My s3000 doesnt run with my stock turbo????
I bought a used s3000 off of a guy on here...Put it on last night and it doesnt run as good as my stocker? Anybody know why? I had my stockers wastegate clamped so i was building 55 psi....ended up cracking exhaust housing thats why a changed....I have tried clamping the wastegate on the 3000 but doesnt seem to help much either....I also am gettin 40 psi of boost with the 3000, I could launch on my stock turbo at 30 psi but all i can get the new turbo to is 20 while building boost....I am running a Quadzilla boost fooler....Also the S3000 didnt come with a electronic wastegate like my stock one did....So I left it unplugged......Does this affect anything? Was planning on going to the drags tonight so all help is greatly appreciated....Michael
leaving the sensor wire unplugged will set a boost code.
gotta get one from II about $25
i see you are running sticks and a BD in your sig. you are still using them? needs extra fuel to spin a 300 compared to your stocker. does it spin nicely by hand and did you prefill with oil during install?

S300 is a better turbo then your stocker for sure it is also refered to as the
B1 or the super b from BD performance. They are a good small single that should spool very quickly just as well as stock not great when you get into adding more mods such as injectors etc. but it will be a good addition to a twins setup if you plan on going that route in the future. As for leaving the sensor unpluged that is more then likely your problem have you checked codes on the truck more then likely you have an overboost code. Industrial injection sales a loop for that sensor for like stated above around $25. give them a call. You might also call that guy and make sure he didnt have it wastegated down somewhat, also when you installed it was the exhaust side caked up with like burnt stick oil that would indicated blown seals etc. If it was sooty then you should be good in that department.

It was pretty sooty, didnt seem to have any oil resedue, what about just taking the plug off the old wastegate and cutting the wires and crossing it over? would that work? so that the computer would be getting a signal all the time?

Not sure it would be worth a try I guess just remember those sensors are $150 apiece if you were wanting to try and do something I would take the whole sensor piece out of the turbo and plug it in and zip tie it up and see what happens.
Thats about right what fueling mods do you have if its wastegated right you shouldnt see over 50 with that turbo, but its better then a stocker b/c of its efficiency range. Do you have any codes when you check em with your tripledog?
Get a II boost fooler and clear the codes. All that boost from your stocker was inefficient neways that turbo was out of its efficiency range around 40. This one will be in its efficiency range and be a great turbo once you get the fooler in and codes cleared.
