My laundry List.... opinions from experience please
My laundry List.... opinions from experience please
Hey all
Well I need to update the sig. I have added a full built DTT trans and converter with billets.
Now to the list. I am looking for info on the sequence of improvements. Id prefer to build with orginazation to keep wasting money to a minimum. The end result. A daily driver that can act stock through out the day. Come a couple weekends a year hit the track with noce low times. Im aiming for a reliable 700 hp. I know reliable and 700 dont mix to well but that is my goal. and i stress it must have its mild manners. So currently I have the Hot Juice with the A2, Full tilt DTT. COuld you all take a moment to sequnce the rest of the build for example.
1. J/A hot
2. Scotty 5 (suppose will go out when twins go in)
3. DTT tranny
4. Upgrade fuel delivery
5. oring or fire ring, stud head/block
6. twins
7. ?
8?
please keep in mind the aforementioned is simply an example. I have not the experience to efficiently make such a list only what i have read. Please be as detailed as possible. Also the doos and dont may be helpful. Thank You

The 04.5-06 needs a camshaft. Everytime someones asks me whats first on them, I always say: Camshaft. It is a great base to start a project like this. Twins need valve springs eventually.
You dont need o-rings with the MLS gasket that is already on the engine. You do need studs, properly TQ'd.
Of course you need injectors.
Twins will give the best long term durability and help the low RPM smoke. I like fast spoolers like the Artic Air that uses the stock top turbo. IdahoCTD also makes a fast spooling set that uses the stock top turbo. Either set is great and proven.
The BDDL and the TST is a killler stack for big power. The BDDL can be removed to daily drive. The TST timing only on level 1 gives great mileage. Combined with the camshaft, the mileage will be better than you could imagine.
An upgraded CP3 from Floor It Diesel. Either the stage 1 or the stage 2 will get you to 700 with the 04.5 and up. Relentless also makes a CP3 system that uses your existing pump but spins it faster. Both are proven.
Low pressure fuel delivery to the CP3. Many choices here.
Summary:
1) Good injectors
2) Higher volume CP3
3) Camshaft
4) TST
5) BDDL
6) Twin turbos
7) Low pressure fuel delivery system
8) Studs ( ARP IMO )
9) Rail pressure gage of some kind/type to monitor whats going on in your HPCR system.
10) Valve springs
This will make 700 and more.

) are using the TST stacked with something else(edge EZ, BDDL, MP8, or whatever). The Juce/A2 is supposed to be an "all-in-one" box, so It wants to be alone, however some have stakced it, but the real power is with the TST.

You can do it too with the Hot J/A. The MP-8 stack program, the "right" injectors and CP3/supply mods will give more than enough fuel. Picking the right injectors....have fun. Lots of reading to do on that for 4.5's and newer.

The J/A stacks great with the VA C3.1, EZ, or the MP-8. The MP-8 is just better than the EZ. Mixed opinions exist about the VA and IMHO would put it above the EZ and behind the MP-8.

IdahoCTD, can be found on the TDR as IdahoCTD or on the nwbombers.com as IdahoCTD. He should be on here too, but I dont know for certain.
There are literally a dozen vendors that will try and work up some kind of deal to get you 700-750 HP, but only a few can make it happen with any reliability long term and have something with resale value if you ever decided to change trucks later on.
A look around at the classifieds will show you the resale value of everyones used parts and pieces. You will be surprised at the differences.

banks Intercooler
vanaiken
pdr cam
injectors*
studs
hd valvesprings if needed,
southbend clutch
cp3 from floor it
lift pump (**** 05's, anyone figure these out yet? a nice plug and play harness , and a way to keep my stocker on standby)
turbo choices up in the air still
I want to try and get the engine hard parts done right so that reliablilty will be there. i dont want to force out the power through electrical wizardy, just coax out whats there.
*And finally how bout those injectors for my 05 don? hmmmm?
Im hopping for anything between 550-700hp and 1000+ lbs of torque thats easy to drive and reliable and have boost stay under 50 lbs.
