I heard an '04 today that had a Magnaflow and it was louder than I had anticipated. It was too loud for my tastes and I was considering the Magnaflow.

I wonder since he had no factory cat if the factory-catted, post-04.5 models are quieter with the same muffler.

 

I have an 06 with no cat or muffler and i just went from straight to magnaflow and its very quiet, at least compared to the straight. You can't sneak home at night but its pretty darn quiet
