That's right, can't win em all. I have been smoked a few time myself, each time was a learning experience.

JMalone, No worries!! I just got mine from Geno's today from bein on back order! When i was gonna ordre from RPM Outlet it was gonna cost me $98, that was with two clamps! It said free shipping but u get charged for a handeling fee! So i went with the ME kit with the hanger for a couple beans more!

 

You all have cats has anyone done this on a 2003, is it obnoxious?

 

I don't own one, but I have heard some straight piped without the kitty.

In my opinion, it's too much. Sounds like straight TRACTOR after 1500 RPMS.

Maybe it's just me.

Yeah, it's rather annoying, especially when towing. I don't know if it's the echo off the trailer or what, but highways were obnoxious, and got some REAL dirty looks pulling into a campground late at night.

Ended up going back to stock (guess it's a good thing I'm a packrat and **** about ripping stuff apart...just been burned too many times and wished I could just hit the UNDO button on whatever I just did. So, projects normally take me twice as long, but the stuff I'm ripping apart normally looks pretty darned good.).

 

I was just curious about this muffler delete. I ordered one through RPM Outlet yesterday and it's already here out for delivery today (according to UPS) and the shipping was Free.

Anyway, my question is about drone, has anyone noticed a bad drone on the 06's? I'm hopefully going to install it this weekend if it doesn't rain.

just put mine on today and love it, cat still on and sound is perfect to me just need to put my 5" tip on and see if it is any different

 

Well, all I can say is "you get what you pay for".

It sounds exactly like I thought it would................... straight pipe with a cat .

I own two 2nd Gens with full exhaust sytems so I am rather biased.

It kinda has a underwater exhaust sound.

Well I didn't buy it for the sound anyway, mainly to lower EGT's and get a little better spool up.

I'll report back on that later.

Till then, I'll keep my hopes up. ..............

BTW, the UPS guy made a second delivery.............

Just put the straight pipe on, amazing ordered it yesterdy from rpm and got the thang today. Not much louder since I left the kitty on but yeah kinda sounds like a John Deere. Nuthin like the 02 with the Rips on it, but its not as loud either and thats what I wanted. Something to keep the exhaust temps down along with the noise. Next will be a downloader or sumthin just dont know yet which one. Wont be doing the radical thang so which do yall suggest?
