Muffler delete for stock exhaust?

OK, through several searches the only thing I come up with is the muffler delete from Genos for $100 before shipping. Is there anything else out there that will bolt right in to the factory exhaust (on an '06) for a more reasonable price? I had considered the MBRP muffler, but am thinking I'd like to try the muffler delete route first.

If your gonna leave the cat just cut the muffler out, I couldnt really hear a diff at idle and even wot it aint very loud.

I had a local shop weld in a piece of 4". Dont remember the cost but I think it was around 100.

How about under HALF that price?

They have a pretty sweet price on their 18" angle cut tip too.

Yep, if leaving the cat, around 4ft is what you need...

$100?

Shoot, $15 for the pipe, $10 shipping, borrowed a buddies welder, and done for $25

Thats a dang good price!
I probably would have bought that instead of messing with it had I known, AND could get the pipe off, it was rusted together from its previous life in Utah....

Whats the difference between the RPM pipe and Geno's pipe? Looks to me the hanger that comes with Geno's is the only difference.

I'd like to hear more on the RPM pipe. Half the price sure is nice but is it half the quality....? (Compared to Genos that is)
Those tips are a perty good price.

I agree also on deleting the pipe and not worrying about a muffler if you are going to keep the cat. I have the MBRP muffler on mine now. You cant really tell any difference between having that muffler on there and just having the cat and straight pipe. The converter cuts down quite a bit on noise from the exhaust. If you were going to remove the cat also then that would be a different story pretty loud. Just take it to a muffler shop and have them weld in a 4" piece of pipe for you, it shouldn't run you more than 50 bucks. They may have to order the piece of pipe, most muffler shops dont carry that big of pipe in stock unless you run by a truck shop and pick a piece up.

That's the first mod I had done to my truck. Went to a local shop that does all my exhaust work and to my suprise he had 4" aluminized in stock. About an hour and $70 later, I can actually hear the truck and not the tires.

Maybe the diff. between the RPM and Genos pipes is aluminized vs. stainless?! That's a considerable price difference for just adding a hanger.

3 ft piece of stainless 4" flex pipe and two 4" stainless flat band clamps (local truck parts supplier - under $40 ), sawzall and some wrenches, re-use one of the u-bolt clamps from the muffler and couple it to a piece of all-thread to make a custom hanger, 20 minutes laying on the floor, some soot on the hands and face, and she sounds just dreamy!!!!!

ditto! just had it done yesterday, $100, more menacing idle and a little more bark when you get in the throttle. They pulled the muffler and resonator...

I got mine from a local parts store that deals only in larger commercial trucks. Most truck stops should prolly have some too. A lot of trucks use it to come from the motor and out from under the cab to go into a stack or stacks. Most places should sell it by the foot. I think it was around 7-8 bucks a foot for stainless and a couple bucks cheaper for aluminized. The 4" stainless clamps were about 8 dollars a piece too.
