Mod's
Just picked up my 05 3500 6 speed. What mod's can I make without trashing my warranty.I miss the sound of my 01 already. Is there a trick to shifting the six speed I have racked every gear I think.I like to sit back further the I can with the six speed. You have to push the clutch clear to the floor to get it to shift or go into gear.
Well for a start, you can remove all the turbo silencing crap (silencer ring, intake tube baffles), and then get either a straight pipe or at least a freer flowing muffler. Those will be free and cheap, respectively.
As for the 6 speed, just sit a little closer and just make sure that clutch is to the floor. You will get used to it. Sometimes it gets a little old rowing through the gears in traffic, but the durability and power control of the manual is worth it IMO.

They gave me 17.000 for my 01.I probably could have sold it outright or hagled for more .I Didn't wan't the hassel of selling it my self.I was thinking of putting stacks on it and a BHAF but it looks like there is a air mass sensor at the air box.?? I would like to put a juice box on it if I can find something that won't show up on the computer if I have to take it in for service.

How many miles were on the 01, as I traded my 01 PSD for the same price. Just comparing notes.
When you factor in the tax savings, and the normal wear and tear items you need to buy to keep the 01 on the road, (mine needed new tires at $1400.00) the 05 with a full warranty really pencils out nicely.
I at first didn't like how quiet the new truck was, but after driving it for a week, you start to realize that a normal phone conversation can be had, little road noise, and you don't have to turn the radio up to hear it. Sure is nice!!!

Unless your racing our speed shifting you shouldnt even need to use your clutch,,except for taking off from a stop..
