Mild injector upgrade.

Just wondering if there are any mild injector upgrades available? Something like 70-90hp upgrade I have exhaust and intake upgrades and currently running Edge ez box . I really don't know much about injectors any advice would be appreciated. I don't do any heavy pulling all I'm really looking for is a little more acceleration. Thanks.

You might want to ask DonM if he has a set of EDMs for the common rail fuel system yet (I’m assuming they are for the 04). If he does, the Mach 1.5s (80hp) or the Mach 2s (100hp) should fit the bill nicely. If you do this you will also need a box with a boost fooler to help keep those injectors cool. And before you do any of this you will need gauges and a tranny upgrade to handle all the HP and torque you will be throwing at it. Are you feeling the strong tug on the wallet yet?
Are you out there Don M?

Diesel Dynamics Stage I injectors would fill the bill, they are a very quality and proven injector. I helped install a set of Stage Is a few weeks ago and it made the truck run very nice. Still virtually smoke free, even at 3000 feet where we were.

Jannetty Racing also offers a set of 80 RWHP injectors at a very reasonable price exchange of course.
Please email me for info.

Can you install mild injectors in a 3rd gen with no other modifications?

Yes, you can as long as you have at least an EGT gauge or don't tow over 6000 lbs.
We always recommend you do Exhaust and Intake upgrades first.
Keeps things in balance, keeps the EGT in check, gives the best gains as a package.

I'd hold out for Don's injectors. I don't think he's shipping them yet. http://www.f1diesel.com/injectorsecho.html

Speaking of boost foolers, is there one out there that just does that and nothing else at a reasonable price?

I'm thinking about some mild injectors as well, if I don't do the box thing. Although, I don't want to spend another $300-400 after the injector purchase just to buy a box for boost fooling.

Also, I'm a bit worried about going to the dealer with performance injectors for the service person to barf up an overboost code during testing since I would have removed the boost fooler/box for the dealer visit.

Ted,

What is the process used to produce the 80HP injectors for the 3rd gen? Are they extrude honed? Do you mind stating who does the work?
