Mickey Thompson Baja Claws good or bad?

Hey,I was just wondering if anyone had run the Mt baja claws and how they did on wear and driveability on street? I am looking at a set of 37x13.50x17 and dont want to put money in tires that are going to wear out quick or drive bad because tires this size are not cheap. So any help is appreciated these are going on a 04.5 CTD

no reason to run a tire that aggresive unless you spend a lot of time off road. mtz's are a good compromise- great off road and not too bad on highway.

I think the Baja Claws are awesome. If I didn't get such a good deal on the BFG's, I'd have gotten Claws. I had them on my 03 dually, and ran them 52K miles and I still had tread left when I got rid of the truck. Don't know why they lasted so long on the dually, but they did. My buddy has them on his 05 dually and he's got 40K on his and plenty of tread left. Don't know how they wear on an SRW, but on duallies they are great.

Had a set on my 01, and I loved em. But they arent pavement friendly compared to a A/T. I had about 40K on mine before I traded the truck, and had about another 10-15K left. Mine were 35s. I did do alot of off-roading, mainly sand/rock where I like to hunt and fish. I plan on putting them on the new truck when the stockers wear out

I had 35" claws on my 98 Jeep Wrangler. They were the worst tires ever. I bought the Jeep with them already on their and yea they probably do last a long time. After numerous scary incidents of them hydroplaning and sliding in snow and rain I got rid of them. I know the Jeep isn't the best in rain or snow anyways but I've had a few other sets of tires on my jeep since then and the claws are by far the worst. They have no siping at all. They were not to bad off road though. I do always laugh when I see them on huge lifted trucks though. I guess they do look the best, but I would never put them on anything that I would be driving.

i had 33" claws on a 98 jeep wrangler also, couldnt stop on wet pavement. hydro-planed. i have the atz's on my 5.9, there not worth a penny in the mud but have worn great, 30,000 on them and theyve been spun/rotated/spun..smoked u name it. and the hook like mad if there warmed up a bit! love em. probably 1/3 tread left. they do pick up gravel though.

Thanks guys seems they are some mixed responses about the baja claws may look at something else before deciding for sure because the truck will not see any off-roading. So thanks for the responses and any other tire recommendation is appreciated.

Hence the name Baja claws... even the name sounds "dry" to me. There is no siping, so if you are in colder wet weather dont get them. But me in AZ, I see more dry dirt then water

i had a set on my truck. they were one of the best tires i ever owned. and if you ever do any truck pulling they are awsome. i had them on my truck for about 30,000. the fronts were around 1/2 tread and the rears were bad, but thats my fault. i also plow snow with my truck and they work better than my bfg a/t i have now. they are definatly going to be my next set of tires.

I have the Atz's and love them so far, they are'nt a mudding tire but i've had worse. I work in the oil field and drive out on crappy locations everyday and so far these are the best tires i've had for racking up the miles and still performing decent offroad. In the snow they do better than my old toyo's and wear a hell of a lot better than they did too. Hope this helps.
