looking to upgrade

right now I have the Edge EZ. I would like to step up my power alittle bit. Any suggestions? What is my best upgrade option?

It's all about how much you want to spend. Judging from your sig. you can upgrade your intake, turbo, fuel system, the list goes on...

if you just want more power and still be on the safe side you have 2 options
1) Edge juice(i think this can stack with the EZ, not sure tho), bully dog, banks 6 gun
2) if you dont mind spending the little bit more cash get a torque converter, valve body upgrade. I drove a stock truck with this done and it felt like it had more power and response then my truck with all my mods (in sig). This is my next mod, but its cost issue for me.

If you are wating more I would either do a product that has the digital gauges or add gauges first.

If you wanted digital gauges you could stack your EZ with either the Juice W/ Attitude or a BullyDog Downloader W/ Outlook

If you wanted to go with the analog gauges you could stack it with a van Aaken C3.2.

Any of these combos would work good. PM me if you haveanymore questions.

You might consider a Scotty RA3, Turbo Air Guide III, gauges and a Banks Six-Gun or Edge Juice with Attitude.

you may consider tranny mods. then agian I just put on the juice and my tranny does not like level 5 alone without stacking. I am on larger tires though so you might be able to get away with stacking.

I can't deciede whether or not to just abuse the tranny till it dies then replace or upgrade the stock tranny.

the juice would proably be a good stack but there is some pressure added on the 03 juice so I would call them to make sure it is not too much. I think the tst or triple dog/power put will work as well.

this guy has a freaking 6 SPEED truck. i would first do the things that would help the truck breath easier. that way you will get more when you go to stack another box ontop of what you got. also get you a set of gauges so you can monitor what the truck is doing. if you stack another box on top of the EZ you will NEED to monitor your egts closely due to the fact that there will be loads more fuel being added and i would have to say that it is better to monitor then not and be stuck with having to buy a new turbo. just my thoughts though. thanks.

hmm did not see the 6-spd. wouldn't he need a new clutch at those power levels? not sure don't have one. I though I read about people smoking clutches with just a single box in 5 and 6th gear.

in that case I would do another box and then see if the clutch holds. I would call edge and see if the 03-04 juice stacks well with the ez. then if the egt's are high do intake and exhaust. you will get more out of those mods post mod than pre. I know I have no egt issues with my juice even on level 5 unloaded. stacked it may or may not.

you may consider the bullydog with the outlook as well that way you don't have two boxes up under the hood cluttering things up. not sure if the tripledog/power pup adds presure or not. also look at the tst if you really want power. I did not because I am not going that crazy with the truck and there monitor looks horible IMO.

I have the edge juice w/attitude and a 6 speed you really have to watch your gauges

Thanks for the help, I am still researching and trying to decide which direction to head. I know I need guages before anything else, I was just thinking about trying to kill 2 birds with one stone and get a box with digital guages, but I really don't like the look of them. I don't know, thanks though and any more help would be appreciated!

I just installed the juice w/att., banks intercooler, maglaflow exhaust, and already had the custom air intake. The clutch hates me. I think a South Bend cluthch should be next. I know it will be my next upgrade, that is if im gonna have to pull my 24' trailer 2000 miles to Oregon in 2 weeks. I think that with a good clutch your launch would still gain you some 1/4 mile time if thats what your after.

cfm3110 Jan 17, 2006 09:44 AM

I am not really looking for 1/4 mile times here. I just like power. As of right now i can't afford to buy a new clutch, so I may be stranded here till I can save some cash. I put all of my money into paying for this truck, I am in college after all.
