looking to increase MPGs....

03 2500 CTD..what can I do to increase my MPGs? the only mod I have done so far was a Stage 2 AFE intake. Do the Edge's or powerpucks increase your MPGs noticably? Just looking to stretch out my diesel as far as I can. Thanks

Increase timing safely = increased mpgs, usually.

Slow down...it`s the cheapest easiest thing you can do.

For the cost of an Edge (or any other product like it) you would have to do an AWFUL lot of driving to ever re-coupe your money....that would be assuming you could keep your foot out of the throttle with the added power.

Max the pressure out in your tires and slow down are two ways to help with the mileage. If you fill out your signature guys with similiar trucks can help answer with more specific knowledge.

I also have 2003 4x4 5spd. I get 18 to 19 mpg around town hand calculated tank after tank with smarty 4.11 sw #9 tires with max air and the hardest part ............driving slow very hard..but with gas at 4.99 a gallon here in connecticut a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do just to have and drive his diesel. Once diesel was the cheapest fuel now "forget about it".

if you still have your stock filter trash the afe stage 2 and replace back to stock , the smarty jr will give you the timing and 2 or 3 mpg a cfm+ and grid heater delete will help a little after that the cost to benefit ratio takes to long to pay out unless you are high mileage driver i did forget one thing put air tabs on and a tailgate spoiler for the 1500 series and a tonneau cover i like the roll up lund from jc whitney had to notch the spoiler on each side about an inch for the lund
