I dont mind if they stick out 2-3 inches but it is tuff finding wheels for these trucks, i had a problem with it for the last 3 years and its why i've had 3 different wheel styles on my truck

You should be fine running 9.5" or 10" wide rims. I got 13.5" tires and 9.5" rims. No problems.

your truck looks nice, doesnt look nearly as bad as i would have thought, the wheels i have are 22 x 9.5 and i plan on running 41 inch IROKs, i was told its dangerous to run a wheel that narrow? i dont plan on being stupid and taking turns at 45 mph so i dont understand why the guy said that

12" wide is taking it to the extreeme. Are you going for the cover of Mini Truckin Magazine. That would look horriable. I'm into rock crawling and I'm running a 15" wide tire on a 10" rim. Most 17" beadlocks only come in 9.5" wide and we run 15-18 rubbler on them. Normal rule of thumb is to run a rim 4" less the the wideness of tire. Most people just get a 10" rim and call it good for what ever size tire.

You will be fine with a 9.5-10" rim

I have 18x10 welds with 13.5x33"tire and a friend had the same size wheels with 15.5x33" tires. They fit fine but the mounting machine didn't like them at all. A 33" tire with an 18" hole have stiff sidewalls and don't mount very easy but are completely do-able. Trust me you don't want 12's

20x12

I run 20x12 pacer wheels and 37 toyos I like the look of the wide wheels ,I try to run the tread width with the wheel width think it looks better that way ,but some prefer the skinny wheels , keep in stock plenty of wheel bearing assemblies your going to need them with wide wheels ,I would say depending on driving habits every 20 to 30 thousand.

I'm running a 13.5 on an 8" rim. The sidewalls are plenty tall enough to flex inward for the skinny wheel and I can still take curves really well without body roll. When I used to fourwheel an old Bronco, I wanted the sidewall bulge to help protect the rims from rocks.

I ran a 38x15.50 Nitto Mud Grappler on my H2 on an 18x10 MKW MK19 rim. THe actual width of the tire is 16.25" and it worked fine; never had a problem. You won't need anything wider than that.
