Leveling Kit and Hankook RT03's installed

I just got done installing a Revtec 2" leveling kit, and new Hankook 315/70/17's on my truck. It looks great. Tires are pretty quiet so far. Ride is almost as good as stock. BUT here is the problem. At 60mph (actual), the steering wheel starts to wobble a little. Then at 62 or so it gets to where the whole front end is wobbling. It goes away at about 70, unless I hit a bump, then it is back. My truck has 900 highway miles on it. The truck has only been driven for 2 weeks.

So, where do I start? I have read most of the posts on Death Wobble. I am certain that I don't have any worn front end components. The track bar bolt is tight. Can an alignment help this situation? What about an additional or better steering stabilizer?

I can't have a brand new truck drive like this, or tearing itself up.

BTW, I will post some pics of the Hankooks installed. I know some guys on here were interested in them. They look really good.

Thanks in advance for the help.
Jeremy

Have the truck aligned. The toe-in will need to be adjusted. An adjustable trackbar to re-center the axle will probably help too. If you get a drop trackbar bracket instead, you will need a drop pitman arm as well to fix the steering geometry

Thanks for the quick reply. So if I get an adjustable track bar, then I don't need a drop pitman arm? Who's track bar do you recommend?

I will get pics soon. Something else I just thought of. Can I get it aligned, and then put the trac bar on if needed? That shouldn't affect the alignment right? Thanks again.

Get Don Thuren's trackbar. I would have it aligned after installing the bar. Good luck!

forcefed88,
Nice setup! I have the Kooks and Revtek with Bilstein 5100s. I've got some pics waiting approval in my gallery of my dusty truck with them installed. I had my truck aligned right after I installed everything, and my toe-in was out .26". I drive on the poor Missouri roads, and on rough gravel roads, and haven't had a hint of the DW. The tires had some "skworm" for the first 1,000 miles, but they are good now. I've got about 3,000 on them now, and they don't have any signs of wear. I run 55psi in the front, and 50psi in the rear. The tread doesn't look as impressive on my dusty truck, for some reason, but when cleaned up, I get alot of compliments !

Get the lifetime alignment and then do whatever you need.

Nick, I really like the tires also. They were priced really well, and are quiet as of right now.

cromulius, I agree. I am going to get the lifetime alignment so that I can get the track bar if the alignment alone doesn't cure the problem.

I have read that the caster should be set at 4-5 degrees. Is that where you guys have yours?

Thanks for the help.

Well, I spent the entire day cleaning the basement and garage so I didn't take any. I will take some tomorrow. I will have to rinse the truck off since it is black. One day outside and it looks dirty.

Can I attach the pictures directly to this thread, or do I have to host them first?

You need to host them first. If you do it elsewhere (such as photobucket.com) you can post them immediately. Otherwise you can host them here but you'll have to wait for approval before posting them.

Don't worry about cleaning the truck. I find it a bit silly to model an offroad tire on a sparkling clean truck . I rather see the thing covered in mud.

Will this bring the axle back to stock?

His trackbar is adjustable so that you can center the axle.
