Lets Try again.. Anyone have Mopar Diamond plate steps??
Hello Again Everyone. I had this post up last week, and it miraculously disappeared off the site, And I'm sorry to post again, but I had people who responded, and dont want them to think I forgot them.
My truck has the chrome Mopar tube steps on it. I'm thinking of selling them and getting the whole Mopar Diamond plate set-up with the steps, bed extensions, and mud flaps. Does anybody have this set-up, and how do you like it?? Also any pics, would be great.
Also, I had responses to my other post, before it disappeared, from people interested in my Chrome steps. Truck only has 740 miles on it.
Any pics or info of the Diamond plate set up, let me have it, LOL
Thanks again guy's

I have that setup and for what I paid extra for it I am not that impressed. The steps constantly creak and do not feel solid when you step on them, the bed rails curl and they used double faced tape to attach, which does not work well. They do a great job of keeping scratches off the bedrails. The mudflaps are constantly popping the attachment hardware and I have to go to Lowes to get new hardware every few months. If I remember correctly the total for all that stuff was a little over $1200 for everything from DC. If I had it to do over again I would get a good set of black nerf bars, a heavy duty deep diamond plate truck box and a quality spray in bedliner over the bed rails. I would have spent a lot more and it would last a lot longer IMO. It is an accessory that was already installed on the truck and they were not willing to pull it off. I was not willing to wait to order a truck like I wanted and since that was the only descrepancy I bought it like it was. Overall you can do better than their stuff for less $$$.
I have them on my 2003. I like them for the most part. The only shakey part is the boards on the bed before the duals, of course they would probably feel better (stronger) if I lost some weight!!! LOL But we know that won't happen any time soon. They came on the truck from the dealer, except the front mud flaps, when I asked "why not?" they said because according to the instruction you have to drill in the fenders and that could cause trouble. I ordered and installed them with the drilling in the fender and have NO trouble. I did remove the Mopar bed rails and replaced them with DeeZee's, I like they way they wrap over the bed rails. They don't seem to come loose or rattle. I had SS bars on my 2001 and like them also, but the boards do protect the rockers much better. Of course... Your mileage may differ. There are photo's in my gallery.
"Nascarcamper" Thanks for the reply. I have a Reg. 4X4 Quad cab. How do you like the feel when you step on them. I dont like the factory chrome tubes, to me there to close to the body. Are they solid when you step on them?? Or do you feel them "giving" or bending when you put your weight on them? Im only 165 lbs. Also, Are these diamond plate steps a pain in the butt to keep from geting dull?? They look good in the catalog, but so does everything else!!
They are very solid with my weight, which is almost twice yours
!! I don't think mine are very dull, and I have not done anything but standard wash to them. I'm sure there are some dulling that I don't notice
. This is my second truck in my life with them and I'm okay with them.
