Just Hooked up Homelink

I ordered the homelink from the dealer Part #56049707AF last week and installed it yesterday. I couldn't believe how easy it was to install. My wife told me that I only had 20 minutes until dinner and i was done in 10. The only thing is the DTE isn't accurate. I called the dealer and asked the service rep if they could tell the new computer that I really have a 34 gal tank. He said that he never heard of this before. Any suggestions from anyone as to how to "steer him in the right direction?"

The homelink works great and I love the OEM look but I didn't like the $220 price tag.

Homelink is you onboard garage door opener. You have 3 different onboard remotes.....now the overhead read-out (MPG, Compass, and Temp) is another thingy.

I tried programming mine in about 3 years back and it didn't work so I gave up. Will try again one day.

Sorry - I meant the garage door programming if anyone was confused. MPG etc works pretty much right on after manual checking lots of times

I don't think it can be reprogrammed to be more accurate (never heard of it anyway), my DTE and MPG are always off I just hand calculate MPG. I do like the Homelink though, have had it programmed to open a few different garage doors and its always worked great.

I have a friend with the homelink, uses it for a garage door and a couple entrance gates, he just loves it.

As far as the overhead and getting mpg's correct, dealer has a couple flashes for that, I don't think what they charge for a flash is worth going to them and having it done. When my truck was new and covered under warranty, the did flash mine, it was close to being correct but still not as accurate as a calculator.

I have considered adding the homelink, thanks for the p/n, I wonder if they are the same for all year models?
