Just got my Scotty's Air Ram - Disappointed

I really like the fact that it draws COLD air from two locations, and doesn't draw in warm engine air like a bhaf or other intake.

Theres a cone that the filter sits in that is placed inside the housing.
I call it a 'cone' because it is shaped and tapered just like a cone to shape air around the filter as opposed to air slamming into the flat end of the filter.
Its an integral part of the assembly. I am certain you would know if you did not have it.
email me and I can send you the assembly instructions that display it.

Another very good feature of this intake is that if it was to take on ANY moisture, it will not breakdown like paper filters.

Actually, when you install a BHAF you must remove the stock air box. All the cold air from the front, under and fender are then exposed to the filter element of the BHAF. I didn't realize this untill I installed AK RAM's system on my rig. I will need to put a hole in the end of the canister to get the cold fender air but I am getting the cold air from the front and bottom with Brian's set-up. I just gotta say that I dont' think this system can be beat - with this system you get the most air of any filter (largest surface area), Clean air, cool air, no oil which means no inconsistency, and cheaper than any other system! Thanks AK, kinda glad it wouldn't work with your twins

My RamAir sure helped on EGT's - - that must tell you something. It spools up quicker and cut my time down when towing in my 50 to 80 mph tests. And I am stock other than the filter and a heavy size 12.
