The element is a Stage 2 AFE w/6" opening. It replaces a Stage 1 Magnun (94-02) that had the 4.5" opening.

So far low end torque and throttle response is up a hair. Noise is about the same or a bit louder.

Are you talking about the grey colored tube? Its an old AFE torque tube when they were made from iron.

Basically the same setup but with a smaller stage 1 type filter with a 4.5" inlet flange from a 2nd gen Magnum Force intake.

Basically, yes. No room for the stage 2 system under my hood. I have had the stage 2 several times in the past but I didnt install because I thought the plastic torque tube would melt under loaded conditions when it contacted the outlet pipe from the Aurora turbo.
Of course now the Stage 2 box just wont fit due to the ARB air compressor being mounted in front of the battery box.

The reducer pipe that goes from 6" to 4" is a spare exhaust aluminum pipe I had laying around from a prior purchase. The bottom piece that connects to the Aurora 5000 is a stock piece from the common rail "S" pipe. The 4" 45* rubber boot and clamps were purchased from intakehoses.com.
