Injector rattle on 04.5
I have worked closely with a large diesel performance shop since i recieved my truck, had the poor thing bombed with 70 km on it, same with the air intake and exhaust, had all the guages so I was a prime candidate for the testing, also i had acess to a drb, a dodge scanner for check engine light problems, any way this is how it went, the first box i tried was the VA which was smooth but he temps and check engine light came on every 3rd day or so,2nd was the tst, nice box little expensive and what a pain to install, temps were insane above 3/3 tried 4/4 anf hit 1700 in 3 sec, that was no good, 3rd was the ramifier 100hp box, worked fine but had issues with bad injector rattle on high setting, as you know this is no good for the injectors just ask me,lol, with my 2nd turbo thanks to tst,4th was the quadzilla 100hp, was surging bad on high setting, got new programmed one, had it backfire through intake, and smoke insane on highway,you know where that one went lol,lets not leave out the predator just pressure box we know what i did with that one also,t
next was the edge 65hp chip, was ok truck ran fine, only conplaint was i thought it was a little underpowered , but good chip,the final one that was tested was the predator 2018 118hp chip,this was the best one and the quietest one for the money,no injector rattle, temps are fine never above 1250 pulling heavy, this is the one i have in my truck now and is good, I am trying the new tst this week with a edge stack to see if i can get a little bit more power than i had, i will keep you informed if the temps are still insane or doable .

When did you hear(rpm range) the injector rattle? I'm hearing something rattle and couldn't figure out what it was. I'm hearing a rattle on the injector side of the motor between 1800-2000 rpm. Is there anything to prevent this rattle?

lr i have the 2018 box on my 600 to and the truck sounds like a gasser with bad fuel( clatters). i can hit 1450 egt with no problem also. called dr performance about clatter noise and they said it was normal for the 600 motor to clatter
. asked them about egt's and man was that a sore subject with them. sorry to hear about the quadzilla box i was thinking of giving that one a try.

I NEVER HAD ANY EGT ISSUES with the 2018 Durango my reading was post turbo, I SEE your running the tst and edge stacked this is the combo I want to try, how is this for power, egts, noise etc Carmicle, as for getting rid of the rattle no such luck, as you recall the older ones sounded worse, but this was more of a timing rattle which was ok,any way will be trying the tst combo tues. to see if its any better than the 2018 predator. sorry for the capital letters , sucks to have big fingers lol.
Injector clatter
Maybe the injector clatter that many of us are experiencing is not caused by these boxes. I personally have now had 7 NEW INJECTORS installed!!! My dealer told me this AM that there has been a problem with them but of course I have had more than most. Figures. Anyway I will see this PM when I pick mine up if I have the clatter as this truck didn't do it when it was new,...now 6800miles. If it's gone then I'm changing my fueling station. And I don't have a box!!!! Yet.

TST stacked with an EZ works good. The EZ helps to get things moving in the lower rpms and then TST takes care of the rest after 2000 rpm. EGTs are hot if you are running a single, depending on what level you use, but with my twins I haven't got over 1400 no matter how I try it.

carmicle how is the twin setup working for you, any dyno numbers?, can you post pictures on the twins, was it a hugh benefit per cost?, you say the tst runs hot in the higher numbers with a single turbo like what?, my truck is the 600 also so dont know if its the same scenario. thanks

You mentioned trashing the Preditor pressure box, was that the Stage I or the Predator Stage II 85HP box? I have the Stage II and so far other than high EGTs (1450+) I have not had any issues or complaints.

The twins have really cooled EGTs down and helped top end. I dynoed at 569hp on a dynojet about two months ago with the twins compared to 511hp with the single. The single was the Jammer turbo from Diesel Dynamics. I don't have any pics to post. The biggest benefit has probably been the EGT control. With the single I could hit over 1800 and with the twins I can't get over 1400.

the predator box goes to the map and the fuel pressure regulator, its number is a 2018 its the latest by dr performance, and is claimed 118hp, feels good and has no other rattles in engine when on or off throttle, definately giving it fuel cause my bumper is always black, pain in the but lol, but the temps are inline also never over 1250.hope this helps you RamWheelsBy4, the other predatoer boxes only went to the regulator, which was hard on stuff, by boosting the fuel pressure in terms raming a little more fuel by the injectors to produce little more power.

lr those egt's are post turbo? mine will hit 1450 pre turbo no problem. the clatter noise i mentioned is while at steady cruise on highway. does anyone else have the same noise while at steady speed on highway with there 600.

I am getting the same thing, only can hear it at idle though.
Also, with the key in the on position, but engine not running, I am getting a lot of what I will call "relay clatter" that appears to be coming from the head. I think that it is the injectors.
Anyone else??

All pressure boxes including the predators do this. thats how they make their power. more pressure = more power. no more pressure = no more power. lots 'o pressure = hard on stuff. The more HP they make the harder they are on stuff. doesn't matter if they connect only to the pressure sensor or not. (this is not a regulator)
