Question I want a wide stance, what wheels should I get?

Ok I just purchased the Carli starter system, which I'm told is +2.75in of lift in the front and +1.5in in the rear. I'm waiting for it to get here so I can install it.

Once installed, with the extra clearance, I would like the widest set wheel/tire combo I can without rubbing. I want to stick with 17in rim. I want either 33x12.50 or 35x12.50 Toyo M/T. What are the ideal wheel specs I should look for?

Would any of these wheels work?
MB Predator 17x8 5.5in BS
MB Predator 17x8 4.25in BS
Desert Rat Raton 17x10 4.5in BS

do ya like the look of the H2 rims / tires ? they give it a great stance and if ya can find a set of fresh take offs with tires, the price is usually good. sets the truck a good bit wider, and hangs the tires outside the wells enough that you can use pocket flares without it looking stupid.

If you want something that sticks out pretty far you need at least a 10" wide wheel and probably around 4.5" of Backspacing. H2 wheels just aren't for me. The don't have much more BS then stock wheels.

whats yours

Townsend600, I look at the pictures you have and I like the look of your truck. What is the width and backspacing on your wheels? They don't look like the KMC XD badlands that you have in your signature.

My avatar pic is from awhile back.

Those wheels were 17x9 pro comp 1079's with 315/70/17 Hankook Dynapro MT's. 4.5" of BS.

My badlands sit out just as far.

I really like the 17x10 Raton wheels with the 4.5" backspacing. How bad would these stick out on an 05 with the Lorenz 3" leveling kit? Thanks

get the 10" wide wheels the 8 wont stick out like what you want I dont think you will be happy with the looks unless you get a wide wheel. Ive got some 12" wide wheels for sale in the classifieds they stick out a little about 8" past the fender wells haha

KMC says my wheels are 9" but when you put a set of wheel calipers on them the are 10" wide.

clearance

Townsend, how much clearance do you have with those wheels and 33s? And is that clearance only with the 2.5" leveling kit in your signature or is there more you had to do to fit them?

Arrow predator wheels

Also is anyone here using the MB Predator wheels from discount tire? If so what lift/tire combo are you using?
