I have twins, why should I change ??

ok.. all the recent disscusion around twins has sparked my interest again. looking for some input, I have the BD tow twins currently I was reading one of the threads where a form member has the R-700's and tow a 30' trailer.

I have a 27" toy hauler, when loaded i estimate the weight at 14,000.
do you think the R-700's will work in my apllication ?? I still have stock sticks.(california)

^^^ agree with above. Without larger sticks, you won't get the full use of a larger primary anyway. Unless you are going to get bigger injectors, best to stick with what you have.
R700 twins will basically support DDP 90's when running empty. If you went that route, and still plan to tow like you do, then a really good water system is also in order.

I had my injectors before the R700's, so I am not certain how it would tow with stock tips. When I do tow, I have my TST off, and Smarty back to stock(or sw1), have always left the EZ on 2. My tips are small(75hp), and my truck pulls my 30' 5vr toybox like a dream.

You have 4:10(I have 3:73's) differentials, so that would help, however I'm not sure the larger primary would benefit you at this time, unless you are having egt issues while pulling hard. You also have Smarty, so you could up the lowend fueling if lag became an issue, but I do not believe it would.

You would notice a difference... with the tow twins, I would bet you are always "on" boost, even in stop and go traffic. Towing on the hiway, I am cruising at about 15# boost, so the R700's are lit and ready for more, in stop and go traffic while towing, there is a noticeable lag while accelerating from a stop, but it is minimal, once again your lower gearing would diminish that.

You are correct, that it would be an inexpensive and easy swap, and I can see you have the ability to create high egt's even now, not towing. As easily as my set spools up, I believe you would be fine with stock injectors.

thanks guys, I will listen to the voice of good reason.

My Egt are fine with the tow twins, espciallly for the places i like to go ( dirt biking stonyford cali) not willing to change the injectors because I'm worried about smoke here in california.

if I thought I could keep the smoke under control and tow heavy I would change them in a heart beat.

You don't need to change your injectors to have twins that perform. Your 2007 has the same injectors that my 2006 has, my towing twins are perorming just fine, getting the job doen nicely. I have plenty of fuel pressure with the stock cp3 to support twins. I have yet to drain my rail pressure down whatsoever towing 18K loads, it is holding at good correct pressure. My egt's are just great, going to bigger injectors will rise those egts and cause temp problems towing. If all is running good, put your need to make changes somewhere else. More is not always better, just enough is.
