i saw on a site where an ht3b cost around 700 bucks new.....has anyone put one of these under the stock hx35?? if so how did they like it and how much would it cost to plumb it and what else would be needed besides the turbos and pipes?

thanks guys,

It'll work, but an S400 is better and also costs less. Nathan (MPI) sells a sweet stocker/S400 kit for a very reasonable price.

does he have a website?

Check out my sig and see my set up. Knowing that now^^^ I agree with above. The BHT3B can be had for less than 700... but the S400 is a little better turbo. I have mine cuz I got a good deal, so am not complaining... I'm still better than many other twins and most all singles. I just have an "old school" setup. There are better tops and better bottoms to be had; it doesn't mean they all work together. Twins is a complicated science, not as easy as just putting one turbo on top of another. I recommend MPI as well.

the 35/3B is a good drivable setup, Piers sells them as their twin kit. you might could get the piping from Source Automotive, I think they just the piping.

those twins have been around a while, and have been labeled 'dinosaur turbos' but I think its a good setup

thanks guys....so besides the piping, what else is needed??? im lost when it comes to turbo's

Those are the turbos in my truck and I have no complaints. I bought them in the full kit though, so all the thinking was done for me. Doing them from scratch, I would expect to spend quite some time getting the wastegate(s) set so that they run efficiently.

I run them also, my ht3b was 416 $ to my door....I dont know anything about the s400, I ve had my hx35/ht3b for about 3 years now. You do need to go bigger on the hx35 exhuast housing, I run a 14 non gated, but am adding a gate in the middle. It has worked great, and feel like aybe Im screwing up a good thing by messing with it. I just got my ddp 4 today....so Im putting in and pulling my 370's out, then switching to a three peice ported manifold.

The truck is perfect and Im still changing things, I must not be very smart.
