how much boost?

I just finished my boost gauge install on my 06 and am new to the ctd. Was wondering how much boost is everyone getting completely stock? I drove it around briefly and at WOT I saw 30-32 before I shifted. Seems really high but like I said I don't know where it should be running at. Thanks for the info.

That is normal for 04.5 600 and up. My 04.5 600 would spike to 32-33psi and settle between 28-30psi on WOT completely stock.

OK here's the issue, this guy and I are looking for a simple answer. Is this boost too high? I am running 5" to dual 4" exhaust, a S&B Cold air kit and a Juice with attitude. I am running about 39 to 40 PSI at WOT,On the attitude which people are telling me i more likely 40-42 PSI because the Attitude is not very accurate, and it's scaring the crap out of me. What is causing this? Is there anything that I can do to get this boost back to normal, or atleast under control aside from keeping my foot out of it. What will happen if this continues to happen. Is my motor going to grenade some day???

I read somewhere in the TDR (years ago), the it comes out to about 10 horsepower per lb of boost. 32/33 lbs looks really close to the 325 that Cummins claims. Anyone know for sure? Terry.

I pulled the performance program out of my truck Sunday, after trying to tow my "big" trailer in it.Somethin about 47 pounds of boost didn't set well with me.Now I have it in tow mode which is making 38 punds and much lower EGT's,and still pulls like a *****.

whoever told you that is wrong. Ramwheelsby4 will vouch that the attitude is off, but it tells more than you are making. After about 30PSI it reads off the ECM due to boost fooling. You are probably in the 32-34 PSI range so dont worry.

The Juice/Attitude reads boost numbers from the ECM, which uses the MAP sensor which is limited electronically by the ECM programming to a MAX of about 40psi. TST remote is limited to the same MAX reading from the ECM. I believe that the Juice/Attitude is accurate to around 36psi and then starts getting off. Mine was off on the low side after 36psi. The max readings were always lower than actual. I never saw over 42psi or so with the Juice/Attitude and although that is probably out of the efficiency range of the turbo it should not be damaging for the short WOTs. Quad Race box would spike to 44-45psi on my stock turbo, and I think that was pushing it a little too hard. Just my .02.

I can see 42lbs at WOT with my setup. Don't stay tere too long though. It will run at 38-40 as long as I stay in it a little. I have the Attitude monitor as well as gauges and they are ready pretty close all the time. Difference being when you let off the mechanical gauge drops down quicker than the Attitude.
