It's great. You really have to see what you can do with it to understand. In my opinion, if you don't really want to get into it too much, and have a relatively stock truck, get a smarty or something. If you really want your truck to run good, and especially if you've got a few mods, efi is the only way to go. You usually get a "starter" tune from whoever you buy efi from which helps get you going. If you don't feel comfortable building a tune yourself, you can work with a shop and have tunes custom built for you. I believe the price of efi isn't too much more than some programmers.

Here is my example: 600-625hp that I drive everyday, without any smoke under normal driving conditions, that gets good mileage, isn't too touchy, doesn't rattle and knock, that has smooth power that I can tow with. Yes, just one tune. It is possible when you can control duration, pressure, timing, pilot and post injection, etc. You can tune your engine to match your mods/needs.

I was running crazy larry and a quad pressure box before. Now I don't have to worry about a box under my hood failing again, or wondering what these things are doing to my engine. I'm never going back to that.

I got my efi setup from rob/monty at atp truck performance in boise, id. Good people to work with.

Are you able to set max rail pressure at all? Or is that controlled by a sensor?

Yes, you can make rail pressure whatever you want, wherever you want.
