The plastic top, or should I pull the head? I've been meaning to put in headstuds. I don't know why Cummins would require new headstuds and a headgasket to replace sparkplugs. I thought diesels were supposed to run forever, however one can assume it's because of hard spark plug changes most users take care of their vehicles

To change the spark plugs you have to take the engine out of the truck and remove the crank. The spark plugs are up inside the engine on the right side of the block.

I'd watch out getting it done at WalMart, in my previous diesel, they didn't use diesel-rated sparkplugs, and I had to run on compression only, for a 90% loss in power until I realized their mistake. They overfilled the blinker fluid, and it ate through some wires, and shorted out the ecu.

I don't let wally mart do any thing
I take mine to the dealer for all tune ups
They change my plugs,do a 5 qt oil change, and replace the winter air to summer air in my tires.
And they even test drive it for a few miles with my juice on (5)
to make sure all the Alumn. parts seat togather.
I love my Dealer
Ps. My dealer even fills up my gas tank

My dealer has a strict policy about swaping air in tires, it seems they've taken into account electricity and man-hours on this ordeal, and it's not worth their current asking price, so they stopped doing it. I can still get a 7-quart oil change though. You know, 6 in the engine, 1 on everything else 
My dealer once stacked a TSt PMCR, Edge EZ, Bully Dog Downloader, Ramifier, VA 3.1, and quadzilla's box, and set them all too high. When I took off at 5% throttle my tires blew up from the torque transfer. I had some spares, and my **** truck wheelied 1st, 2nd, and a bit of third. I estimate I was pushing around 4,500whp or so

Isn't it DC's policy that only the dealerships are allowed to replace plugs on our Cummins. Plus the gapping is not listed in the manual or on the trucks epa sticker. I see this as a 5 - 800 dealership charge. Heck, while they are at it and have everything torn apart, what's another 130 to replace the fuel filter.
