Question High Arc Intake, Banks/ATS

I was wondering what your guys/gals opinions are on these things? Are they worth the $$$?

I don't know, I would love to see someone do a few runs before and after an install of one or both to see if they really justify the money. I like the ATS piece a lot better myself, the high-ram is not only on the ugly side but it doesn't look like it really "rams" the air in as much as the ATS would. ....but of course looks don't mean a whole lot, lol. I plan on buying the ATS piece at one point or another, provided I like the research I gather.

I dont think my high ram did a darn thing. If you want looks, it does look good but as far as performance maybe and a big maybe my turbo spools a little quicker. So if you want looks buy it as far as performance save the money.

i dont think the banks or the ATS is so good, notice how there are 2 bolts that go in the middle of the manifold, that is a big obstruction of air flow, but there is a new intake manifold made by a company called CFM Plus, it is made of a composite material instead of aluminum so there is less heat soak, and the 4 bolts the attach intake plenum to the manifold are at the base of the intake so there is no airflow distortion. something deffinatley worth looking into

I have had both the ATS and Banks High Ram's and I can say that I think the quality of the ATS unit is better.
Overall I also prefer the ATS unit, but since I have the Banks technicooler system I have to run the Technicooler high ram which has a larger mouth for increased flow.

Have the Banks on my truck since they came out. It helped with a little on throttle response but like said above real only a show piece when you pop your hood to show everyone that wants a peek under your hood. Looks a whole lot better than stock, but a little high in price for what you get.

I like the idea of the quicker throttle response! My 06 has the drive by wire where my 02 was mechanical and you just barely touch the throttle and it jumps.

Junk. Might as well but a tornado for some fuel savings too.

I run the ATS one and i like it, i did notice a better throttle responce but then again i also added the heater grid delete block and the volant..

All in all i am pleased..

I looked into the Banks Hi-ram but the fact that it only come in red kinda killed it for me..

I don't have experience with the ATS or the Banks. I do have the CFM plus. My mileage went from just under 17 to just over 19. EGTs are lower by about 75-150 degrees and cool down times are cut in half. Throttle response is not much different. Install was pretty easy. It took about 90 minutes. The mileage alone makes it worth the money for me. But, this is not for the ATS or Banks intake, this is the CFM +. Good luck
