Hey ATS Arcflow guys, does the arcflow reduce surge?

Im fixing to install a sps 62 turbo and ats exhaust manifold on my 05 ram cummins 4x4 SWB 48RE truck and was wondering if the addition of the arcflow intake will reduce this surge between 1700 and 1900 rpm that is talked about with larger turbos. I currently experence this condition with my stock unit when rolling on the throttle at 1500 rpm or when under heavy throttle when the engine drops rpm during lockup. TST set to 4/4 and Bullydog downloader at 90 hp performance setting. With my stock unit this surge feels like a little butterfly but goes away quickly.

Any experences with the arcflow? Is it worth the money?

Thanks !

I have one ordered to accompany my SNOW system so I can't comment on it's affect in your situation, but I do run the same boxes and I have NO surge as you describe. Probably something not right with the TST or the DL.

Something is definitely not right with your truck.

The only stock turbo that has been known to surge is the ones modified by Piers. While they do make more air, they are prone to a bit of surging.

A Phat Shaft 62 will have no surging issues.

In fact, not all SPS 66 users have surge. It varies from truck to truck.

I'm not sure you have a TST or BDDL problem, but I'd suggest installing the 62 and seeing if that clears up your problem. If it doesn't, call Industrial Injection and see what they suggest.

maybe what i have going on is not a surge. when i am crusing 60 mph turning 2000 rpm on 4.10 gears and 285/70r17 tires with my tst on 4/4 and the bully dog downloader on 90hp setting, and I "roll on throttle" or push throttle to wide open running 60mph i feel a little butterfly feeling and then the truck goes... I know for sure it is engine related and it almost feels or seems like its too much fuel at first then when the boost kicks it I go back in the seat.

stock turbo 45 psi

Have you cleaned or replaced your air intake filter lately? Also ck your fuel filter or change it if you haven't.
