Help with shock absorbers

Hey
after stacking my lift and spacers, my shocks are too short. I got longer ones in yesterday.... how hard are they to install?

Pretty easy to do. Remove the lower shock bolt then unbolt the shock tower and pull both out through the engine compartment. Unbolt the shock from the tower, bolt on the new one, then drop the tower and shock back into place. Bolt on the tower then fasten the lower shock bolt.

here my little take on it because even though i have huge guns, compressing the 5100s is hard by yourself at the angles you work in.

when installing the new ones, i dropped them down and bolted the bottom first. then i went back and tightened the shock tower up. i then cut the strap keeping them compressed and guided it up thru the hole on the shock tower. it worked for me...if you look at it, you should see what im talking about!

I did my all alone. Its not that bad. The one "problem" area for me was the nut on the top of the front shocks. Just tightening or loosening this allows the shock stem to turn. For the stock shock removal, I gave it a hit on the impact gun and was sucessful. Installation, I had to use a "gearwrench" and a hex bit with a ratchet to keep the stem from turning.

Question... The front shock towers. Do they need to be installed in a paticular position or can the tower be rotated from the factory installed position. Does turning it 90 or 180 degrees matter? I didn't see any difference in position. Just the front right shock seems to be angled slightly forward.

rears are easy. the fronts can be a bit of a pain since you have to remoce the coil to get to them.
