finally had a chance to get on the truck hard since i put the helix 2 in along with the sportmans springs. first off the truck flat out idles smoother than ever before. sounds more throaty also. power is smooth as silk all the way through the powerband unlike before it would fall off. pulls like a train from 50-100. smoke is cut in half by 50% if not more. even with the twins my truck would smoke crazy with the boxes turned up. now i drive it around town with no worries. spoolup is 100 time quicker. again the twins spool nice but had some lag from a stop. not any more. egts are down 250*. I threw everything i had at it and couldnt get them past 1200* all the way to 100 mph. truck just idles,sounds,drives and performes better than it ever has. to say im pleased with it is an understatement. next truck will have a helix2 in it as the first mod. out of all the stuff ive done to my truck this has made the biggest improvement yet. 100% satisfied with it.

 

Awsome, that is the first "real world" write up I have seen on the H2 cam.

 

The only thing that would hold me back from this is how much the labor to install it costs. So, how much? If you don't mind me asking.

 

Justin installed his own. If you have to farm it out figure $550 to $750 labor. Hows the tranny holding Justin? Tim

trans is awsome. truck gets sideways when it hits second now. one more cp3 and bigger sticks and ill be able to play with the big boys. nice dyno #s

 

I guess you got your flux 3s swapped ok? Have your Pop call me I will be working his tranny tonight. Let me know when you are ready for a second cp3 and flux 4s. I found pretty much the same thing as you with the helix 2 not quite the drop in egts but close and my silver bullet spools on demand now. Good luck this season. Tim

Labor = 0 for springs.

 

The springs are NOT out during a cam install. If you are doing an injector install, you can do springs at the same time because the cummins valve spring compressor uses the injector hold down bolt holes for mounting. Add about and hour to an injector install to do the springs as well, otherwise about 4 hours to just do the springs.

 

I wonder if this helix 2 camshaft will make the silverbullet spool like the sps62? It would be nice to have a large turbo like the silverbullet build boost quicker or build more boost without lots of throttle pressure.

 

A cam will make a big difference in the spoolup of larger turbos. You won't be disappointed
