Heading too the Track Friday.

Well Heading too the track on friday, and with Arm Drop Racing Live showing up next weekend, I may and try too qualify for it as well. The Index here in edmonton is a 12.50.

Question is does anybody know how weight loss in a diesel works for time reduction??

Since my 12.92 run here is what has been changed for this coming Friday:

Silver Bullet instead of the pesky SPS62
Gonna run TNT/R instead of Beta 4.2 (dyno shows +80hp on fuel)
Gonna Run my full nitrous set-up (.046 jet too spool, and .088 jet for top end), this is opposed too the single .046 jet I ran last time out with beta 4.2.
Race Weight last run was 7854, right now truck is coming in at 7299. (Amazing what removing all those tools will do...LOL).

So I am hoping too break 12.50 friday with this set-up. Reason I ask about weight in the diesels is, the rule of thumbe for gassers is 110 pounds = 0.1 sec. But diesels should be about 220 pounds = 0.1 secs, correct?

Anyways, that his how i will run this week, hopefully i can break 12.50 with these 35's. If not I have a lock on some toyo proxes and rims that weigh in at 85lbs/tire, that versus my 35's that are 155lbs.tire. So that would gain me another 280 pounds, plus some giddyup do to the lighter rolling stock.

Any Opinions are welcome. Thanks.
Jon.

Best of luck to you. I think dropping a tire size would be your best bet to better times. How about a boosted launch in 3rd with the toyo's?

I will be doing that with the 35's.....I forgot too mention the last time at the track was a simple let the clutch out and drop the hammer type launch....this time around will have 10 psi boosted launches in 3rd.

What do you have for a clutch? 3rd gear boosted launches with that amount of power on 35s... Wow!!!

I hope thats tire and wheel combo weighing that much b/c my 42" TSLs dont weigh even close to that, but Id run both 280lbs of unsprung weight is huge, compared to losing 280lbs of sprung weight. Good luck.

I have a SPEC ST-06 DD. It is rated for 2250 ft-lbs.

I would throw the smaller tires on there and a good, hard 3rd gear launch with the NOS will get you there no problem. You are running a lot more power than I am but going from 35's to 265's was worth 3/10's with the same tuning.

A problem I have found running the smaller tires is traction. I have scooted sideways a good foot already before I moved forward. I got the VP tire compound and resolved that problem quick. Good luck and make sure you have someone there with a camcorder to share with us!
