Hate my raspy exhaust and cab drone.

5"MBRP, seemed to get worse after I installed the Smarty. Read on here about 51" Donaldson, now seeing posts about the 40". Want to get rid of cab drone and raspy, ricer sound. Must be getting older but quieter is starting to sound better. Opinions?

I think I had a muffler once...lol

Anyway, I've heard a lot of people who like the 51", haven't heard much on the 40" yet.

I always recommend these...i run the twister race muffler but their big muffs are similar to Donaldson's.

I really like my 51" donaldson, only slightly louder then stock, I did it three weeks ago and my wife still has not noticed that anything has changed so I know its quiet enough. Sounds great and with the cat mia performance and egt's are both improved greatly. I don't know about the 40" but with the 51" and muffler eliminator the cat pretty much had to go for room reasons. Fits very nicely over the cross member where the cat used to occupy.

I went from the MBRP (Drone Monster) to the 51" Donaldson..... I have my hearing back....well except when the "Warden" is yelling at me! The Donaldson sounds stock to me....All I hear is whistle now! I'll be 40 next month....am I getting old?

I run the 12" Donaldson in a 5"....kills the drone just right. Mount it forward as possible.

Thanks for the replies.
I tow alot and I can't take the drone anymore. Don't care if it is quieter than stock. Considered putting the stock 4" back on without the muffler. Atleast it was quiet in the cab.
Consensus seems to be the 51" Donaldson.
Noticed they also make a Donaldson resonator in the 5",wonder if that would knock the drone out by just adding that to my current setup.
Cat is MIA also.

I have a 91 with a 5" straight pipe and I don't hear it unless I am running with the beer window open. A resonator should help if you mount it far enough forward.
