Gauges ---again!

I know this is a comon question but i am getting ready to start doing a little more moding. I have DIY air box and a Donaldson muffler now its time for some gauges. I have looked at some dif styles. I had originally elected to go with the Quad Commander, but do to the boost fooling, i have now elected to go manual to get a true reading. I have seen a few pillar mounts and was wondering what gauges to get. Whats the dif between ISSPRO and Dipricol gauges? Does anyone make a pilar for 4 gauge(EGT,boost, trans and fuel). or if i want 4 reading do i need a pilar and single mount or am i now back at the digital unit like the Commander?

Does anyone have a 3 pilar cheaper than dieselmanor? I thought i saw a post a while back where a sponsor had ISSPRO gauges and pilar with all need installation parts for under 300 shipped?

Also, do i need both the 1/8"NPTF and the 1/4"NPTF or does the Boost Bolt not require driling for install. Forgive the dumb questions, i have never intalled a gauge on any of my trucks.

these arent dumb questions. they may have been answered before, but revisiting them is good for the other folks who may have just joined and have the same ?s

the isspro and dipricol's look very similar. i only have experience with the dipricols. i have had the egt gauge fail, they shipped me a new one and asked that i return the bad one soon. good service.

i have only seen a 4 gauge A pillar mount for fords. Genos' Garage sells several varieties of mounts, for 4 gauges, you'll have to go with a combination.

some folks have expressed displeasure with the fit of diesel manor's mounts, that was a few months back. maybe the resolved the issues.

the boost bolt requires no drilling. check genos garage.

I want to make sure that this does not get misconstrued. The Commander does not have a problem reading boost on any module or even with our bosot fooler installed.

The digital monitors that use the OBD2 port or the Can Bus are the only ones that will read wrong if boost fooling is done on the truck.

Now the only downside to the Commander at this very moment is that it will only read about 46psi or so. Now we have an analog to digital converter that we plan on releasing very soon that will allow you to take a reading with a boost bolt and it will work up to 100psi but, that is not here yet.

For your application you will be able to run the Commander with any module you want or with our boost fooler and get an accurate boost reading.

You can see a night shot of the Isspro new dodge white in my gallery. I got the steering mount for my trans temp. The Geno's stuff fits really nice and came with very good instructions.

Quad, sorry for the missunderstanding about the boost fooling. I thought i had read where the Commander was reading the MAP sensor and reported what the computer did. Sorry about that. Now that changes things totally.
Looks like i will be a Quad customer . Any idea when the converter will be available? If i purchase now will i be able to install the converter easily or would i be better off waiting?

Thanks for the help!

You are correct about the Commander reading boost pressure at the MAP sensor, but it reads the info directly from the sensor, before it reaches the ECM, so its not fooled at all.

I had the 3 gauge A-pillar setup and sent it back. I didn't like the A-pillar fit or color, and I preferred to keep my grab handle. I went with the Commander instead and I'm glad I did.

I have two Stewart Warner gauges on the pillar (see my gallery). They are white faced and look very close to stock Dodge dashboard. I chose the red backlite as no reflection on w/s @ night - very pleased. Boost & EGT - didn't worry about transmission oil temp as I have the G56. No vision obstruction with twin pod.

Normally I would agree with you Wiggs however, I was a Navy Recruit Company Commander (the Navy's version of a Drill Sgt.) for 4 years back in the late '80's - early '90's and I did hear some pretty interesting ones....."do I really have to take a shower?" "What happens if I don't know how to swim?" "Do I have to wear shoes?" "can my girlfriend visit me this weekend? It is my birthday" I can go on and on
