Have been busy with life and not active here for a few years. Now retired and have a bit more time so have come back to learn a lot and share what little I know.

My truck currently has a bit over 186,000 miles on it and in coming back I am learning that the OEM injectors could fail me at any time in the next 50-60,000 miles. With this in mind and the $2-4,000 replacement my question is...

Would an up-powered injector last as long as OEM injectors? I am considering replacing with either 25 hp or 50 hp injectors when the OEMs fail. I will of course replace the valve cover gasket at the same time as ~$200 at that time as I figure it is cheap insurance.

Would be considering Integrity Plus 50 hp injectors, would this be wise? Prefer to go with mechanical power over the electronic.

Still have stock NV5600 and stock clutch with PRXB Exhaust Brake and MBRP Turbo Back 4 inch exhaust.

No racing or sled pulling is planned. Just tow a 5th wheel that weighs about 11,000 lbs up and down and over passes exceeding 10,000 feet.

where are you getting this info that your injectors could fail in 50-60,000 miles? lots of guys including me will run some ATF through the fuel system to keep it clean and clean out the injectors if they acting up. i have not heard of those integrity injectors, but what ever you go with, get new, not remanned injectors. i suggest BMS or exergy injectors. putting a 50hp injector wont really give you a bump in power unless you have the tunes to get more power from the bigger injectors.

Needless to say I don't want to have to fork out the money to fix something that I don't need to. I can live with the stock power as it has served me well since I bought the truck new but thought if I HAD to replace injectors to just bump them up a little. I don't know anything about power upgrades so I am willing to learn a little.

When opening up the injectors, fuel mileage has a tendency to drop in relationship to the size of the power gain. Very infrequently does the 50hp injectors stay the same or improve mileage. Over 50hp, forget it.

It is actually more beneficial to use the electronics to make your performance gains. If you have ever viewed the 3d graph of the stock power curves vs most aftermarket (like EFI live) you will see why this is so.

If you do end up having to replace injectors, I would stick with stock unless you are looking for big power. You can obtain 50-100hp very simply and much cheaper with a smarty jr.

^ agreed. like i said you wont benefit from a little bigger injectors unless you had programmer. from what it sounds like, you should get new bosch stock injectors and a smarty jr for a little power bump, like soulezoo said
