Functional Ram Air Hoods….These Look Sweet!

These must be a new product as I haven't seen them before.

Fully functional single or dual scoop hoods, fiberglass, ready to paint, including intake, all for $650. That is almost half the price of the SRT-10 hood, and it isn't functional. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...67&prmenbr=361 The Cummins kit costs a little extra.

Brian, that is what Ghost Rider has! They have been out for about a year now.

Intake is seperate. The one they sold me was a AirAid, but you can get them cheaper online from another supplier.

Thats a nice looking hood, but I like the air grabber hood a little better...

It would be SO cool to have that thing activate at a certain boost setting, maybe like 20psi and it starts opening up , like the old Mopars use to do it with vacuum...

Thumbs up

I like that hood a lot too.

What do you do when it rains, though? Wouldn't water get into your airbox?

I like the looks the functionality of the dual-ram hood, but the air grabber doesn't do anything for me.

Something like that is a loooong way away for me

The Ram Air Hood that's on Ghost Rider has a lower section with drain holes in the bottom of the hood so no water will get to the intake.

Yes, I'm digging up old threads. But at least I used the search engine to find this post because it relates to my question rather than starting a new thread. Big Bob question for you. You mentioned that the supplier sold you an Air Raid intake to go with the hood. Does the Air Raid have the same setup as the AFE as far as the gasket surface where the box meets the hood. I've been looking at the functional hoods and don't really want to swap my AFE for another intake if I can help it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That ghostrider is a straight up wicked looking truck!! The hood looks great, so does the road armor, those bumpers overwhealm most trucks but looks perfect on that truck.

Did the hood reduce egts???

Yes, the AirAid have the rubber gasket, however it was not a quality gasket. I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to go down and buy a piece of 2" or so foam rubber, cut the center out of it to match the AirAid, then slot it to slid down on the AirAid box, put a little filter oil on it and let it seal to the hood.

Thank you.

I can't answer that, reason being I had the hood prior to gauges and fueling enhancements. I have no doubt that it did help, just can't give you a figure on how much.
