Question fuel pressure...up hill surge help

Ive got a thread on another page but nobody is answering so Im gonna give this one a shot. While going uphill on the interstate at the same speed of about 70-80mph I have always felt a little surging or what feels like gulping for fuel. Yesterday I watched my gauges. Doing 75mph it starts surging "not on cruise ctrl" at the top of the hill but I realized it doesnt do it until fuel pressure hits 5lbs. Then If I were to hit the gas I dont think it would go any faster if I wanted it to. But I dont seem to have this problem at WOT? I need to know if the fuel pressure is the problem to know whether or not to order the lift pump. Thanks for any help.

What's the boost doing?
Sounds like 5psi is plenty, if it's 2 or below it could be a problem.
Have you tried removing the boxes to see if the issue is still present?

BTW, it's not uncommon to have some light surging with performance boxes, my EZ does it.

my boost is at 10psi. i didnt take the boxes off b/c its just a pain for the bddl. I have had surging with the quad once before but this is only up hill when it hits 5lbs. I have to slow down and let the fuel pressure get back up.

I seem to have the same issue that you discribed it only seems to do it around 2200-2800rpm with high boost levels. What did you finally find as the problem.

Throtle position sensor?

Does a edge EZ tap into the throtle position sensor? The previous owner claimed that is all he ever put on my truck but it dynoed without the edge at 342hp so something was on it still. Since then I had the ecm flashed and the power surge is still there.
Where is the tps located? I also have a scan gauge and watch the tps and it doesn't bounce up and down when it surges. I've never had a code set either.
Would the jake brake be taped into the tps?

You need a fuel pump. I have a fass 95 gpm, and works good.

I have a quad box and I don't have that issue. Check your Quad wiring harness for wires that have the insulation come off/seperated. Mine has done this and I just taped the bare wire up. Problem solved. It happened when I was installing my box back on my truck. Noticed it when plugging everything in. Must of pulled it loose when running wires through the firewall.
