I use Stanadyne during the winter every other tank. I us it more when I know I will be parked outside (hunting). She is usually babied in the garage. Hard to find though.

Power service in the gray bottle for me year around. I use it every couple tanks. I also use 2 stroke oil (TCW3 ashless from walmart) every couple tanks as well.

Weaker mixed Stanadyne when I can find it, or weaker Lucas when I can't, every tank.

I use Amsoil Diesel Concentrate in every tank. Costs me about $2.50 per fillup.

I use Redline Diesel Fuel Catalyst or Amsoil Diesel Concentrate in each of my vehicles.

I run Marvels Mystery oil... 12 bucks a gallon at wally world and DOES NOT MEET THE ULTRA LOW SULFUR REQS... It's gotta be good right? Two or three glug, glugs, cap her and she hasn't missed a beat! [coffee]

Ever since I read this article, I feel obligated to share it anytime someone talks about additives. Good reading.

Amalgamated TDR-S

Amalgamated TDR-S. I've tried them all. The engine does run quieter with this brand. We'll check the mileage after a tank.

About every forth or fifth tank I pour in some Power Service Diesel Klean. For the rest it's a mixture of Optilube and TCW3.

FTTP Total Power is great stuff! Where's work? I go through Spruce every day on the way to work! I buy it at the Husky in Acheson for $20/bottle.

I wouldn't do it, SeaFoam contains alcohol, which is a no-no for our diesels.

SeaFoam is great for gassers though.

I just filled up with my 1st tank containing 8oz. PS grey, & 16oz of Wally World TCW-3. I have only driven about 15 miles so far, but my engine is already noticeably quieter at idle. I was using some stuff called Lubri-Bor for the last several yrs. but after seeing the study posted here I e mailed them for any study/testing results proving their product. They replied they would get it to me soon...It's been about a month, so I quit using it, & switched to the 2 cyc. oil. I think I like it.

y1topbanana73 03-21-2011 03:36 PM

Has anyone seen any information on Monster Diesel? It's available here on the east coast and it's supposed to be the sh!t (but of course that's what EVERYONE says about their product)

I'm not trying to kijack the thread, but I also ran across a link similar to this one http://rivrdog.typepad.com/files/cop...-version-3.pdf that talks in the same kind of details about diesel oil and which one is the 'best" for our engines. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

BroncoAZ 03-29-2011 01:10 AM

I've been running the Ford cetane booster & performance improver (PM-22-A). It seems to make a difference in the idle and MPG, according to my hand calcs it is up about 1.2 mpg on the past 3 tanks.

I'm sure this stuff is something else rebottled. My dad was running it in the powerstroke he recently sold. I got the remainder of a case for free. He got a 2011 VW Touareg TDI and wasn't sure if it was safe to run the additive.
