I don't hear much about flowmaster on this site. Is flowmaster not a very good brand for diesels? I know in general they don't flow better than some brands, but I really like the sound. I have a 2003 SO and im trying to decide between silverline, MBRP and this system

I don't want it to drone to badly and I think that the silverline and MBRP will. I have had 50 series flowmasters on other trucks and they didn't drone much, thanks for the help.

 

Someone correct me if I am wrong here but I have read in the past that using a muffler that is chambered the way a flowmaster is causes exhaust pulses to change and kills some of your boost.

It could be total BS but thats what I have seen. Seems like straight thru seem to be the choice for a turbocharged motors.

Now, diesels may be different but I know the flowmasters were bad for my mustang that is twin turboed. Had to change them to Magnaflow magnapacks to get the turbos to work properly. Just what my performance shop told me and it did make a big difference when we swapped out the Flowmasters.

 

I just installed mbrp 4" turbo back yesterday it is aluminized not ss, i lost all of my drone when i installed it , the hardest part was the clamp from the turbo to the down pipe once i got that clamp back on 30 minutes tops to finish

 

Do not buy a Flowmaster. Their product is Sh!!.. When I bought my 05 the muffler guy talked me into one and I hated it from the second I drove off very loud and the drone was insane... Spend your money on a well know deisel muffler...

 

Get a 30" MBRP muffler and you won't have any drone. Good designed, straight thru muffler.
