thanks guys appreciate the compliments.

i've been Ford guy for a long time, but after 3 new motors in 6 months, one in the 1999 7.3 one in the 2008 6.4l and one in the 2000 6.8L V10, i knew it was time to switch camps. I also have a 2003 6.0L the only Ford with the original motor.

what can i expect for HP and torque with the towing setup with mach 3 injectors and a smarty programmerand a 4 inch exhaust right from the turbo.

A lot of guys here have put on MPI twins and I have not heard a single complaint. There is a lot of praise for his work. I have a set of Piers towing twins and they work great. They are "old school" twins and very reliable, even with smarty on sw7 and banks all the way up towing 10k up steep mountain grades (high elevation) and hot (104*) outside temps, I never got over 1350* egts and usually not more than 1200*; I saw average of 950* on the flats (reminder this is still high elevation and hot outside temps; lower elevation and cooler outside temps would bring overall egts down quite a bit). The thing I always feel compelled to point out though is while Piers designed those twins a long time ago, he is no longer associated with PDR. He has a new place called Peak Diesel Performance. He is also designing new towing twins. He's a smart guy and super nice to work with and absolutely worth your time to talk to him about what you want. That said, there are also other choices in twins whose performance is proven and well known such as BD and ATS and some others. Twins are such a big expense and are personal to the application. I always invite people considering them to do a lot of research before deciding on a particular set.

Everyone seems to like the MPI twins. I, however, question the setups that use the stock turbo as the top turbo without an additional wastegate. 600hp worth of exhaust is an extreme amount of CFM to push through a 9cm exhaust housing. While it spools great, I think the drive pressures would be more than excessive. An external gate would solve that problem.

If you're looking at Piers twins, you might as well talk to Piers himself. Piers is no longer associated with PDR. Check out Peak Diesel Performance:

The nicest twin setup I have ever seen is built by J and H Performance in Redding, CA. They use a top turbo with a 6-bolt flance instead of a 3rd-gen large flange. What that means to you is that there is only 1 clamp in the entire twin turbo setup. No clamps, hoses, or boots to blow off. Additionally they use stainless cold pipes, which look super sweet. The entire setup goes into the truck in one piece. Really sweet. That's what is going in my truck!

Your truck is a beauty and worthy of an exceptional set of twins. Give Mark a call at J and H. I think you'll be impressed. They just did a set on an '06 or '07. With their twins, some 90hp sticks and a Smarty the truck ran over 600hp on a tough dyno without any tuning.

Ive had 2 sets of twins. An off the shelf 1 size fits all, and a custom set of MPI's. The best thing is Nathan wants a full list of mods, what your overall goals are, and what you do with your truck. He then will get you a few options and prices. You pick the set up that fits you and away you go. MPIs twins are proven in many high hp trucks, both Cummins and D-max. My vote would be call Nathan or pm him, he knows his stuff.

thanks
