So you really think that it would be worth the $500 to scrap the FASS and go with the GDP ?

You could sell the FASS and recover some of the cost... There are still a number of guys that are die-hard FASS owners. Or you could always use it for a paper weight

You always hear about guys with the FASS 150 needing to upgrade to the FASS 200 for their cp3 mod. That is where the Walbro shines. Throw some shims in it and your done. Some say it isn't proven yet... If your nervous, carry a spare and you can swap it out in less than 5 minutes. I still don't understand how a pump so small can be as powerful as it is...

I'm not attatched to the FASS at all; I just don't want to "downgrade" you know? I am ALL for improving!

I would think the GDP kit is everything but a downgrade compared to the FASS. Get the 392 comp. kit/big line kit/ 2micron filter with water seperator and you will be set. I have mine set for 42 psi and the most I can bring it down to is 40psi (even with my filters inside the bed). With your cp3 mod and injectors you will see more of a drop than that.

Seriously, I pulled my Fass 200 as soon as I could get Richard to send me the GDP kit. Seems like a waste at first, but I promise you it will be the best $$$ spent. No more **** noise and fully adjustable, plus you can't see the filters hanging like you do on most Fass systems.

D, you won't be sorry!

I must be the lone die hard hold out FASS guy...
I have to say that I like the FASS system and think its a good value for the money.

Seems like the FASS is popular with the pullers and the draggers are liking the GDP. Both are very good choices...I dont think you can go wrong with either system.

One thing about the FASS is that it was developed before the trucks were "needing" the 50psi of inlet pressure so it can't be faulted for only running the 14-22psi rated.

is $399 a good deal, if the pump is only $140 all over the 'net?

http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/FuelPumps.asp

WALBRO - In line
GSS392*
255LPH - 550-650HP
Max psi - 150
$139.95 ea.

Universal kit for the 392 is $17.95
*Sold as shown with neoprene sleeve, two brackets, and hardware

I need one ASAP, and I think paying $399 is a tad much,
but it will save me a dozen trips to hardware store to re-engineer it,
and my time is worth that.

The pump is only one part of the system. You wouldn't believe how expensive some of other components are if you buy them separately. I did my Walbro system before the Glacier kits were out, so I'm speaking from experience.

For instance, you'll need the custom adapter block with fuel fitting to replace the stock fuel pump, a wiring harness with relay for powering the Walbro, diesel-rated fuel line, a regulator, etc. It was a pain in the butt buying this stuff separately. I used several components of the FASS kit as that was all that was available at the time.

Trust me, $399 is a bargain when you consider what your time is worth.

how easy would it be to convert from a FASS 150 to the Glacier? can i simply switch the pumps (and wiring) and re-use the FASS fuel lines?

The conversion isn't to bad however, the GDP is a little different as far as return line, wiring, etc. The GDP wants you to use the factory wiring so it fires up like the stock pump, but uses a relay to do so and depending on wether you buy the filter/water sep you will most likely route things a bit different.

I purchased a painless fused rocker switch panel and a painless fuse box and have run everything through switches and my aux fuse box----that way I can leave most of my original stuff alone, and run my GDP, Snow, Pump, boxes, etc all from my switches and fuse box.

I have also kept my stock fuel pump in place and have run the original ground through one of my switches so that I can at a flip of a switch and a turn of a ball valve run my stock fuel system as a back up in case of the main fuel pump failure. (I was worried about the Fass, LOL)

I am a bit like D.Wiggs, I wont put anything on my truck unless its top of the line-----I think the Fass is a good system but in my humble opinnion the GDP is a step up not down. I love how quiet it is and the adjustability is so easy it rocks!
