Fass 150 or GDP 392???

Ok after exhausting this topic already, Im still unsure which way to go. Now I have the funds to finally get something for my truck, and I really need a new fuel situation!!!

...So, Is the Fass 150, and the GDP 392 basically achieving the same goal?

Which runs quieter?

I like the price of Glacier diesels 392, but Im wondering if the difference in cost is a diff in performance??

What the heck should I roll with!! Im not doing any tractor pulls or anything, but want to mod my truck as much as I can afford.

You do not know the GDP392 is even on the truck, unless you look under it...

Does not ahrly make a sound, if you stick your ear by the CP3, you can hear a lil squirt when you turn the key on. That is all. I do not have a FASS, so I will not comment on it. As far as loosing performance because of price, you can crank the Walbro up pretty high. I think there are plenty of testimonies on here from people with a fuel pressure gauge that will tell you that the Walbro will not hardly drop at all...

I started with a Fass 200, it lasted long enough for me to buy the GDP 392.

One thing with the Fass system, at least your competition can see it and hear it so maybe it will scare them off.

I've got a FASS 150. If the GDP kit was available when I bought my setup I would have bought it. The FASS can be LOUD, and mounting it is a pain.

As far as price, isn't the FASS and GDP kit about the same when you get the filter kit?

Wally pump is quiet period. Fass is audible and I like it that way. When I bought, walbro didn't exist and so went Fass. To filter to 3 microns fass uses pricey fleetguard filter. Wally pump can do 2 microns less exspensive. Fass is less connections, internal bypass/regulator and water/coarse 144 micron separator before fuel hits the pump. The same plumbing circuit works on the wally pump, but more connections. When I really think about it if I was buying today I would go wally because the filter choice is better selection and price.

If you'd asked this question a year ago, the answers would have all been for FASS. But the Walbro has since become a proven lift pump for the Cummins, and for good reason. It's inexpensive, quiet, powerful and reliable.

When you look at the tiny Walbro next to the massive FASS motor, you'd think the Walbro would never match up. But the proof is in the performance, and the best part is that for $120 you can carry a spare pump with you "just in case". Try doing that with the FASS.

My FASS 150 is definitely loud as hell on the outside of the truck, but not audible inside. WIth my setup, if I wanted to reduce the noise, would the GDP be the way to go since I am looking for the ABSOLUTE best in performance?

I recently installed GDP's Walbro kit. It's quieter than the stock lift pump when I first turn the ignition on. According to GDP's site, the 392 pump is designed to run up to 130psi, but the by-pass valve keeps between 15 and 20psi in the line so even at high rpm and WOT with the Quad box on 130hp, the pressure might drop 1psi, if that.

I'd buy the Glacier Diesel Power Walbro kit today if I could find someone reputable, and local, to install it for me.
