Factory Toggle Switches

I have an 05 with the Laramie package. In between the two heated seat switches are two blanks which are just begging to have accessories installed on them. Does anyone know of a switch that matches the heated seat toggle? I thought of just buying a couple of heated seat switches from the dealer as well ... anyone have experience with that?

Thanks much!

I believe someone bought a couple of heated seat switches and used something like goof off to get rid of the writing on the switch.

The factory seat heater switches are resister multiplexed momentary type, so using them to power anything else would be difficult.

The resistance between pins 4 and 6 will be 2.2 k ohms in neutral, .415 k ohms in low, and 33 ohms in high.

The control module that turns the heating elements on and off will go into error mode if it doesn't get a reading from the heat sensor that is within range, and it will also go into error mode if the impedence of the heating element is out of range, so trying to adapt the heated seat control module to operate something else isn't going to work, either.

If you find a source for matching switches, though, please share. I think a lot of us would be interested.

That's great information Jeff. I'll get looking into it and will share what I find out.

I looked at the powerwagon today and they use a switch for something. Maybe the electronic swaybar disconnect? Maybe it will suit your needs.

The powerwagon must have 3 extra switches. 2 lockers and the swaybar.

I don't think it has 3, there are only 4 holes and the heated seats take up two. one of the switches is probably a 3 pos switch 1=off, 2=rear locker, 3=both lockers. That is my guess because I haven't seen a powerwagon yet.

I read that it was a sway bar disconnect. I also think that there is a rear power slide window option on the 06 ers that use the 4th spot.
