Exhaust Question
Hi,
New to this forum and new to diesel. I bought an 07 2500 with the 5.9. Previous owner put different pipes on it and it's pretty loud. I need to quiet it down so I don't freak my dog out when she's riding in the 5th. wheel.
My question is: there is plenty of room to fit a muffler in there before the pipe Y's off near the rear end, what muffler do I put in there and will I have to have someone adjust the computer for the different air flow? Will a performance muffler quiet it down enough?

No computer adjustments are needed message the amount of space you have and find one from any reputable company Mbrp ect get one in stainless steel and the larger the muffler is the quite it will be

Many aftermarket mufflers create drone in the cab which is annoying, especially when towing. On my '06, which I just sold, I ran a Nelson 86131M, which is a 52" long straight through muffler with no baffles and no drone. I installed this muffler cat back and it is only slightly louder than stock.
