I have magnaflow 5" exhaust on 06 5.9 mega 2500 and the drone when
accelerating is a bit much, espesically when towing . I was thinking of adding a resonator on the exhaust , anybody's views or suggestions would be appreciated. You should hear the wife drone about this.

 

40/40 aero turbine muffler
I put this on after a 20" muffler to stop my drone. Worked but I only have 4" exhaust.

 

Had the same problem so I put on a Donaldson and the drone went away.....both of their's.

 

My straight pipe 5" MBRP is wife approved with the Donaldson M090535.

 

A. Cool sounding exhaust
B. Quiet exhaust with no drone while pulling

Pick one.

If you wanted option B you would have kept the perfectly adequate stock exhaust. If you want option a, you're stuck with the drone. Think of drone as that cool sound but it's continuous....

 

A Hushpower works pretty well at sounding good, killing the drone, but not being overly loud.
