Edge juice with attitude...any help

2005 3500 automatic trans...5.9 HO ..14000 miles on it..I have installed a edge juice with attitude. the boost will go up to 42 on 0 and 44 on towing... The EGTs will go up high if anything above 2 towing..The truck is stock except the Edge.. My question is what should my setting be on my alarms. And which setting would be best milage for running easy around town..And any other info that yall can give me and what else can I do for fuel milage and get my EGTs down......Thanks...in north Alabama...

On my 06 ive found the #1 setting to get the best MPG, but the 5 setting, driven very nice will get almost the same MPG.

I have my boost backdown level at 41 with the stock turbo. al lot of pepole say anything over 35psi is just making more heat, but mine still pulls hard and cools the EGTs to around 40 psi. I just wish i could control the WG to open at 39-40 so i wouldnt have to backdown.

My egt's are set to backdown at 1300 with the alarm at 1350. I rarely if ever see the alarm.

dont forget to set your low boost fueling to what ever you want it at. On L-5 i set the LBF at the highest setting to give it more fuel at low boost, more smoke but pulls harder/ faster sooner. On L-1 i have the LBF set to 2 so i dont burn as much fuel until the boost gets up, which in theory gives me a little better MPG.

I think he is refering to the edge settings 1-5

No.
In the menu there is a place to adjust low boost fueling for each of the 5 power settings.

This thread has peaked my interest, I have fooled around with some settings but cant really see much change. I would appreciate if someone with mods similiar to mine (see sig) can let me know what they are running to compare what I have tried in the past.

Set your boost defueling as high as it will go - I think it's 45psi
Set your egt defueling at 1300 - it doesn't react instantly and won't catch up until about 1400.
Go into the settings menu and set your low boost fueling setting to 5 for levels 3,4, and 5, and on 1 or 2 for levels 1 and 2. This will give you better mileage on settings 1 and 2 and will spool the turbo faster on levels 3 and up.
For those needed times when you want to really beat your truck, you can hit the menu button twice very quickly and turn off the backdown features temporarily.

I thought that was setting #6.... the "I have to win this one, at any expense" setting [laugh]

I have my EGT alarm at 1250 and my boost at 40. you can adjust your low boost fueling on each power setting. 1 is the lowest smoke and 5 is the most (that the edge can produce). I have levels 1 and 2 set on #3 (low boost fueling) and all the others set to 5

You have something wrong. Go to Edges website and download the installation file. In it will be how to adjust your various settings.

For you guys that are setting your defueling to 1350 with 04.5 and newer trucks are missing out on power you could be using. These engines will run 1450* from the factory. The ECM uses various parimeters to determine an educated guess at were the temperatures would be a various situations. These engines were designed and built to handle the extra heat. Do I recommend running 1450* all day long? No!!

Pre 04.5 trucks need to run at lower EGT's as they were not designed to run hot.

x2 that I have all my low boost settings all on level 5 I never take my edge off level 6 my boost and egts are set to the max so they will never de-fuel. I have the new 6.7 and I have not had to take it to the dealer not even once. You can peak up to over 1600 for a couple seconds and no problems at all just not for very long. With my water meth I wont see over 1400.

Well I changed some setting today and still could not get any more boost than 31 pounds. Called Edge and talked to one of the tech who called me back on my cell phone while I took the truck for a test drive and checked some setting and still only 31 pounds of boost in all the settings. Tech told me it the a problem with the unit and to send it in and they would update the software and fix the problem with the unit for free, and would add the cool down timer for the turbo for $50.00. Very nice people to deal with.

The cool down ..

I do like the cool down part on the edge if you are in a hurry and forget to let it cool down .Just jump out and it will turn off wnen it is cool enough..
