dual exhaust...
i know dual exhausts are not too popular among the crowd. but for those who do prefer them what is the brand of choice? the shop i deal with say that most brands are pretty much the same as for sound and performance. and as for drone, i've read that it can be cancelled by the positioning of the tip. how true is that? currently on the fence over mbrp and the silverline 4" dual systems. aside from the breathing better and lower egt's advantages, that most systems will offer, i'm just looking for the "coolest " sound.

i have the silver line kit and it sounds great at idle and when going down the road the only issure i have with it is the fact i bought the stainless steel kit and the clamps won't seal the pipe so it has leaks so it sounds a little raspy right now but i'm planning on having it welded with stainless. but at highway speeds you don't hear anything out of the exhaust but when you get on it you hear it nice and loud. i swear at highway speeds its quiter than stock.

I had mine custom bent/installed from a local exhaust/radiator shop. Looks better than any kit ive seen and it was cheaper, not to mention if something breaks it's a free fix. Might want to see if you have anything like that around your area.
Skynyrd, just a thought. I have the MBRP cool duals and the connections are held together with a pretty cheezy clamp. After some leak problems, I went to a "big truck" shop and grabbed some stainless "band" clamps. They are what they use on the bigger equipment and they are stainless so they look good. My exhaust moved around a bit offroad with the previous clamp also. The band clamps stopped any movement and sealed any leaks for me. Might be worth a try...
I recently installed a Silverline 304 turbo back duel. It has 6" black chrome tips the exhaust went on very easy and the tips make a 5" look like it's a gas exhaust. On the highway at 65-70 no drone Very quite but when you get on it there is a very nice tone. The only thing I did was cut the tips back and cut off some of the pipe so I could get the big 6"s to sit half way out the tire. Before they were even with the outside of the tire. Would have looked perfect on a drw but stuck out to much for my taste ( the only reason they stuck out was because I went with the 6" tips 5" will be fine) We sell MBRP also but I really like the fact that the silverline is 304 from start to end. I also run band clamps to seal the pipes but put a small tack weld before putting on the band clamp to stop any twisting.

I have the MBRP 4" duals the sound is really good and like someone else stated I've only heard a bad drone when I'm towing a heavy load. 5" angle cut tips and yes I can change the sound by adjusting the tip.
