Draglink wont fit into new Pitman arm...Superlift arm reverse taper??
Hey im doing the lift as I type but I ran into a problem. The taper on the pitman arm is reversed. Stoke the draglink dropped down into the pitman arm. Now the way the new arm is its reversed( smaller at the top and larger at the bottom. The instructions didnt say but are you soppose to fip the drag link end to load it from underneeth.
The draglink still drops from the top down on lifted trucks w/ new pitman arms... RIGHT????? Thanks. Please respond its friday night and there closed for the weekend. |
I had to flip mine.

That is why it's called a drop pitman arm. [duhhh] Yeah, the drag link comes up from the bottom now. Gives you a better angle on the drag link and it should match the angle that the track bar has since you need to be putting a drop track bar bracket on as well.

Thanks guys.... I guess superlift didnt want to waste the ink to type that in the directions. There was no mention about rotating the draglink 180' and installing it from the bottom up.
Thanks. No I can go for a drive.. |
Instructions these days are pretty lame.

Thanks guys it all went together. They gave me a huge track bar bolt, it was a big black 6" bolt. Instructions said it was 14mm X 80mm. Either way it didnt fit, it was so long it hit the bump stop. So I found a 9/16 grade 8 which I had in stock and used a lock washer nylon lock nut and locktight. I hope it will work.
I'm glad I bought the lifetime allighment at firestone, free allighments for life. Ill go about every 9 months:) Pics comming soon |
