Lightbulb Dont Forget to......................................

After I installed my Scotty's air filter, I emailed them with a question I had. In there responce they mentioned to "remove the rubber flap" by the passenger headlamp. I am not sure on other cleaners but this will let a lot more air in. I dont remember seeing it in the instructions and as I live in Florida (no snow) I dont see it being a problem.

Has anyone else done this?

I did it. I have the stock air box with the front cut out. After cutting out the front and removing that rubber guard, the air goes right through the grill and directly into the front of the box.

Is this to be kept in place if you are in an area of higher than average snowfall? Around here we generally get 4-6" of snow at a time, it can go over that, but not as a general rule. So I guess my question to you all is, would it benifit me, or create problems for me to remove mine?? Or should it be a seasonal removal, take it out in April, and put it back in in Oct??
