Does a valve body really make a big difference???

Well, I really don't like the way my trans shifts, especially when towing so I'm thinking about a performance valve body and maybe a converter. My question is, if I lay down the $$$ for a valve body, is there a real difference in the way the trans performs? I'm only talking about the valve body right now.......

Cool

think you would see more improvement and gain more be replacing the torque convertor first. visit ats webpage or better yet give em a call and ask them.

The valvebody is the brains of the auto.
What you should expect is better shift quailty and longer life.

Yeah, replacing the valve body will affect how your trans performs. Valve bodies affect shift quality, a share of lockup clutch holding capability, and fluid flow. Torque converters affect fluid coupling and a share of lockup clutch holding capability. I tell ya, I initially replaced my valve body with a performance valve body that shifted so hard, my auto would bark the tires at every shift except overdrive without too much effort. It was mucho cool, but sucked for a leisurely drive around town. I have since changed to a towing valve body with a much calmer shift. I miss the performance valve body, but the wife likes this one. Still a 100% improvement over stock performance.

I would really recommend doing both. I know, its more money (where does it stop ), but you won't see 100% promised benefit from either unless you do both. These two parts are designed to compliment each other so much.

Check out this thread. It’s a good read. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...threadid=39585
