I think your brochure might be a misprint. I just serviced an 06 and only put 12 qts. total in the truck. Thats the same amount of oil as my 05, and 03's and 04's.

Dump the oil, put some new oil in run it, fill to top notch. Depending on how long you drain the oil you might get different results.
Dodgetech77, The injectors are exactly the same 03 05 whatever only the nozzles are different. Those that modify the nozzles say the 600 series nozzles hole placement and angle is hard to beat. That is what I was getting at. ks

I have an 07 and will say I put 12 quarts of oil in every time and it fills her up guess chrysler put the 03-04 oil pan on my truck...must of had a couple on the back shelf covered in dust they didn't use in 03-04 so they snuck em on the newer ones when they could to pinch pennies

" This 06 is pulling 19 mpgs HAND CALCULATED". Thats' very good but I get a little better with my 03 dually w/4.10s. I've gotten over 22 twice but that's certainly not the norm. Craig

The valves, the way the oil is injected to the rod,s and the piston lubrication just to name a few. A lot of good info on you tube, there are four videos that look like factory made tech videos. There is a lot of detail and they explain the difference between the different models.
