coil springs recommendations please
I have a broken coil spring in my truck and think i might as well give the truck leveling spring. I think I have decided to go with Billstein 5100 shocks. I read nothing but positive about these shocks. My truck sees 95% pavement and tows my gooseneck dump trailer. I'll be putting air bags in rear to help keep truck level once new springs are installed.
What do you boys recommend for springs? (sorry if i am beating a dead horse) Lorenz? Thuren? Kore? Tuffcountry? |
Carli leveling kit, hands down. The ride is far better than stock! Kit comes with the 5100s too.

I agree with jimbo486.

$825 on the carli site. Any cheaper places to get? They appear to be 1/2 to 1/3 more expensive than any other brands.
|
The only other spring that I would recommend is Thuren. Give Don a call and get a price for his product. I believe you pay for what you get regarding suspensions and related components and you never mentioned cost in the original post.
|
No I didn't want to give a price restriction. Wanted opinion based on product quality alone. Sorry I my price comment sounds negative......just wondering if carli stands that high above the competition. As i believe you get what you pay for as well.

No problem. I highly recommend either Carli or Thuren. I currently have Carli under my truck but would not hesitate to run a Don Thuren setup in the future.

I have had the Variable Rate Kore's with the 5100's on the corners for over a year,,
http://www.koreraceshop.com/kore-hp-...08-diesel.aspx and absolutely love them,,, Only thing I did different was instead of the 2" drop blocks for the sway bar iI bought a set of the 3" Maxx lift end links,, http://www.genosgarage.com/MAXX-LINK...nfo/SMX-1226L/ The difference in the ride is like day light and dark,, last month I just installed Nitto Trail Grapplers in a 285/75/17's a smidge over 34" tall and 11.5 wide with no clearance issues or no High speed death wobble it really leveled my truck and inproved the ride, I'm very satisfied,,,[coffee] will try to post up a pic later,,, |
Like Dr. Dizzle said, you get what you pay for. Anything from Carli is well worth the cost. They stand behind their products 150%. The guys in the shop are easy and very cool to talk to!

Carli/Thuren are worth the cost. Personally I wouldn't run KORE on my truck, but that's more of a personal opinion.. I'm wavering between Thuren and Carli.... Liking Thuren's 2" option.

Couple of reasons...
Great customer service. Gave me his cell phone number in case I had any issues come up during the install. Asks you questions on what you plan to do with your truck. Can keep upgrading and not throw away what you already bought. Wanted 3-4 inch lift only. Owns a Dodge CTD. Results, rides great and can out handle a lot of cars and trucks on the road today. Lift is not so tall that my little women complains every time she gets in it. In fact she had never said it it's to tall... Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2 |
Almost forgot, not sure where you are located, but Don set out it up so I could pick up my leaf springs directly from Carli as we were down in the LA area. Saved me some shiping costs.

i am getting confused. Does thuren have his own system or does he have a relationship with carli? I thought they were two different brands.
