"Twist their rear shafts off" uhhhhh I would love that!! So what # to turn the smarty to?

I just want to shut the four ford guys up, I have to see they all the time and it gets old.

Pull your front diff cover and weld up the spider gears. Then take one of those big ol' soldering irons and cut some big V shaped grooves in your tires. Tug-O-War is about the silliest way to prove the better truck.... in my opinion.

Get a trailer with 30k and have a race up the side of a mountain if you wont drag race them.

Have fun and make sure you have a camcorder handy!

If you are doing a pull off, you don't need any level of smarty, the stock tuning has more than enough power to spin 35" tires in low range when your bumper is chained to a 8K powerstroke. I would leave the smarty where it is or tune it to stock. You don't want to blow up your tranny once you get moving with a powerstroke anchor chained to your bumper.

One more thing, weight is everything a pull off where chain/hitch heights are equivalent. Be sure to fill up just before the event so you have more weight.

Cutting sipes in your tires will help with traction, and more important, let some air out before they measure hitch height, that way you get maximum traction without a height disadvantage.

Throw a few bags of concrete in the back, tell them you had to pick up some mud for your wife's neighbor.

Like already stated, pull off's are a terrible way to prove superiority, they only prove bumper draw bar traction.

The guys with 37's will walk away with this if they air down..

If they don't air down you better air down A LOT! As much as you can before the tires start to bulge so much they call you out for cheating..

Power doesn't mean JACK when in 4 low, which I hope you plan on using..

I could slap 49" tires on my Dodge, super low gearing, and drop in a 4cyl gasser and slow creep away with probably 2 stock CTD's in tow..

Just cause they have 37's does not mean he is gonna lose..I had 35s against an 04 6.0 with 33's and he pulled me the first time. He did a boosted launch and i didnt, second time i did a boosted launch and he was all mine. Really whoever gets momentum first has the greatest adavantage. I would set smarty on 3 and build a little boost in 4 low to help get you out the hole...Driver technique has ALOT to do with it.

I don't think the Smarty will make any difference. It is all about traction. In 4 lo you will have a ton of power, even stock.

You will if you run on SW #9. I did this a while back with a brand new Tundra from this filthy rich kid down the road from me. He insisted he can pull my truck. He cauth me at a good time because I had 20 bags of top soild in the bed when he called me to pull. In the end, I gave him the 2nd pull (just to make him somewhat happy) and I took the other two. I was $1K richer by the end of the day. Now his other rich friend is bugging me for a pull off on his modiefied Titan.

Anyway, leave the Smarty on SW #2 or 3 and use 4L. Stand on the brake till he starts to spin and do a boosted launch. You will drag them all.

So I think Pro-NRA has the best advice yet. Skip the high tech ideas and get a big load of wet top soil!

Hino Powered Toyo

If Toyota ever put a true 301 ton truck in production similar to what was displayed at the SEMA show with a Hino JO8E-TB 8L Turbo Diesel copled with an Eaton 5 Speed, they will dominate the heavy duty truck market. I for one will get one but still keep my CTD.

Well the ford guys are backing away. Now one only wants to race. The guy with the 7.3 will still do it but he is only 4x2. The two 6.0's have 37" nitto grapplers and I think don't want to "hurt" their tires.

I guess I need to make my truck faster now.
