The Challenge Has Been Set

Me: 2006 quad 4x4 w/ smarty #3, 35" tires, 373 rear.

Them: #1) 2000 7.3, 4 door, 2x4, I think super chip, 411 rear
#2) 2006 6.0 4 door, 4x4, super chip, 8" lift, 37' tires, 373 rear
#3) 2006 6.0 2 door extra cab,4x4, Quadzilla, 6" lift, 37" tires, 373 rear

I am going to do all 3 the same day and we will have video. I need some advise.

Those 6.0 powerstrokes are pretty fast if they have a good tuner. Not sure what the superchips provides as far as power but the trannys in those things are way better than a stock 48re... Built is another matter... Stock for stock though they have an edge on ya.

Your best bet it to boost launch in 4x4 and hope your tranny holds together.

I had a 6.0 (ugh) before either of the trucks I have now. With an SCT programmer it was fast. Very fast. Just unreliable!

The 7.3 you won't have a problem with.

What quadzilla module is on the 2 door 6.0?

1. The 7.3 will be toast
2. Up you tune on the smarty
3. Pray your trans holds together.
4. The truck I would b worried about is the 6.0 with quadzilla, they're fast but extremely hot.

White is right that torqshift tranny is pretty strong stock.

iirc, superchips has custom race/extreme tunes for powerstrokes. not sure how much hp they're good for, though.

good bye transmission, the 7.3 2x4 wont have a chance unless he puts a ton in the bed, but the 6.0L doesnt make squat for low end torque you should be able to drag all of them

Ok, in that case then I think with the bottom grunt of the Cummins you will have them for lunch. You would actually do even better if you could find your stock wheels and tires. You would have a way better mechanical advantage against they're ridiculous 37"'s and 3.73 rear gears.

Drag race is a little different story and the other guys pretty much covered it.

Either way, your tranny is going to hate you in the end. This assumes you have a 48re instead of the G56.

all of the trucks that are taller than you have the advantage because your rear will be lifted off the ground and loose traction which = tire smoke, trans bye bye, tires bye, but you do have a better gear ratio to the ground. just keep it on the ground

Yes it is a 48re. We agreed that we will adjust the hight of the hitches to match. As for my tranny, uhhhhhh, it doesn't feel good now. Thats what racing around town with the Smarty did to me. I fear the worst.

Oh well, what level should I put the Smarty on?

Pulloffs don`t mean squat...I`ve seen many big bad trucks get pulled by inferior trucks.

It`s normally the guy that starts to slip/spin first that looses.

Ya know, if you guys put your front bumpers together and pushed you could be like true rutting rams. Just need a cute little Mercedes convertible parked nearby to bump heads over. But hey, its your truck, and money. Maybe built transmission prices will come down as volume sales go up. I could like that.

Those 6.0's are quick with a programmer but since your going to be pulling im guessing guys with the 37's will probably twist their rear drive shaft off. Your best bet is to turn the smarty up and try and not break your tires loose.
